Today we’d like to introduce you to Dali Voodoo.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Dali. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
From a young age, I always did my own thing, an oddball you could say. As early as I can remember, Fashion and music had a special place in my heart. As a youngster, I couldn’t really afford all the cool brand name clothes and sneakers so I found my own way of piecing outfits together. This is what helped me mold my own sense of style and define my fashion. I dyed my hair like a jillion times & tweaked my look over time. My style is inspired by New York street fashion mixed with my recognizable chain accessories.
My passion & love for music thrives, always coming up with lil raps and melodies. Jokingly at first, but as time went on I got more serious about it. Me and my crew, BMBG, ended up making music together and throwing parties. We started performing shows, even opening for bigger artists in town. It’s crazy we ended up creating our own wave. BE MOTIVATED BY GREATNESS. #BMBG
Things leveled up a bit when I dropped the video for my most popular song “Rainwater” in 2017. Fast forward to 2020, I signed with Legacy Music Group and am currently working on my debut EP Don’t Bug Me. The lead single out now “Butterflies” available on all streaming platforms.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Ive dealt with all kinds of obstacles throughout this process. I’ve had snakes on my team scheming on me from behind the scenes, bad management, even delete all my media and music out of spite. I’ve had so many people turn down working with me based on my look, and its crazy cause fast forward to when they hear the music and they’re like “Who’s This? This Hard”. I just know that with every mountain I’m faced, God hasn’t let me down so I move in confidence knowing he’s gonna give me that strength to get through it.
We’d love to hear more about your work and what you are currently focused on. What else should we know?
I’m an Artist, Songwriter, and fashion trendsetter. I spend most of my time in the studio working on my music or demos to shop to other artist. Most known for my positive influential music and fashion advances. There are many ways to describe Dali Voodoo, but unique, talented, and charismatic just seem to scratch the surface.
However, there is one word that ties them all together and is true to their character: Dali Voodoo is Real. Few people represent true honestly from their heart and soul. Dali Voodoo does so in just the right way, combining art, story, and song in perfect unison. Take a look around the site and explore what the gift of music truly is.
Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
I feel like my authenticity is undeniable. I’m pure. I speak, do, and feel what’s on my mind. I try not to follow this made up perfect person rubric that social media traps us in.
