Today we’d like to introduce you to D’Andre Martin.
Thanks for sharing your story with us D’Andre. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
It all started with skateboarding, my first love. If it wasn’t for that piece of wood, I have no idea where I’d be today. It molded me into who I am and eventually led me to discover my passion for expressing myself through Hip-Hop.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Chasing my dreams has been one of the hardest things I’ve ever done. I’ve had to sacrifice so much in order to get to where I am today and even though I’ve come a long way, I’m still nowhere near where I want to be. The biggest challenge I’ve faced so far has been balancing my life out. Between pursuing music, spending time with family and friends, going to school, working, taking care of my overall health, so on and so forth; it can be extremely exhausting and overwhelming to find time for it all. It’s definitely a challenge but I do my best to live a balanced life.
D’Andre Martin – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
I’m a Hip-Hop artist best known for my work on an album I released back in April titled, “Give Me Just a Minute”. The entire project was produced by one of my best friends, Chef Marokyn, who’s also a Dallas native. I feel like the sound that we’ve generated together speaks for itself. We do our best to give our fans quality music that doesn’t sound like everyone else and based on their response, I think we did a pretty good job of executing that. I feel like the overall message of my music is what sets me apart from other artists most though. I’ve always done my best to create songs that inspire people to chase their dreams and never give up on themselves no matter how hard life may be. One of the most rewarding feelings in the world is being told by a fan that your music has changed their life for the better. I always want to be that artist for the people who support me. Without my team, I wouldn’t be anywhere near who or where I am today. I’m so proud of how hard they work and how great they are at what they do. This journey definitely wouldn’t be the same without them.
What is “success” or “successful” for you?
My personal definition of success is happiness. At the end of my journey, if I can look back and be happy with who I was and what I was able to do with my life, I’ve achieved success.
