Thanks for sharing your story with us Dang. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I’m just a normal, down to earth guy with a camera from Dallas, Texas! As most photographers, I prefer my work to do the talking for me. It’s really important to me that my photographs are the most natural record of the day. I capture everything as it is, focusing on the emotions, the mood, the connection between people. I even want the portraits to be the part of the story, so I encourage every couple to be themselves and act exactly as they feel and let me worry about the amazing landscape in the background. In my opinion, only photos like these can bring back the best memories in 10, 20 or 30 years.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Anything worth having is going to take some hard work. And the road won’t be smooth. I’ve dealt with struggling to get booked at times, One of the biggest challenges has been trying to raise my prices as my work gets better because people don’t always respect what you’re trying to do. It’s definitely a job like any other business where you have to know your worth as an entrepreneur or people will try to take advantage of your services.
Please tell us about Dnpixels Photography.
I am a wedding & engagement photographer/videographer ( primarily ). The whole inspiration that drives my work is the mantra of “living in the moment & capturing it.” Honestly, when I post my work on social media, it can be viewed as a just a “normal” post to the average viewer, but the personal connection of what I experienced at that moment with whatever and whoever tells a mental story. It leads to interactions that you can only take away in person which makes life all the more exciting! My vision for any wedding is to capture & photograph moments, that cannot be recreated, but will remind each client of their special day. What they were seeing and what they were feeling on wedding day.
Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
One of my favorite childhood memories was working alongside my dad. Working with my dad taught me the value of hard work and sticking to a project until it is done right. Those moments in my childhood might seem small but they have made hard work and stick-to-itiveness a significant part of who I am today.
