Today we’d like to introduce you to Daniel Evans.
Daniel, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Evans Barbecue was established in 2015 in Fort Worth, TX by me and my wife/ business partner Norma Prado Evans. I lived in Kansas City for 20 years, with many of those years in the food and catering business. In 2008 I settled in Fort Worth, TX. Since growing up in Kansas City and have lived in Texas, I became very familiar with both the Kansas City and Texan barbecue ways. I take pride in my KC influence and have combined it with Texas offset smoke traditions.
Evans BBQ started competing at BBQ events in 2015. The first competition we participated in was the Bedford Blues Festival and we took home the 1st place chicken award. It wasn’t long after that we competed and won many trophies in all categories thereafter (Chicken, Brisket, Ribs, BBQ Beans). We have combined experience, influences and knowledge to bring the best to his family, friends and customers. We are fully dedicated to the process, handcrafting all rubs, seasonings and bbq sauces to create the most authentic and award-winning barbecue. Today, Evans BBQ is available by order on weekends and is a great way to impress at catering events and family gatherings!
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
We take pride in our journey and starting off as a competition team, we’ve learned a lot along the way. Each competition has it’s own set of challenges and competitors. With each, we have learned to adapt and perfect our method along the way.

We specialize in craft barbecue because it’s our passion! We’re known for our handcrafted bbq rubs and bbq sauces that are all made in house. We are also know for our award-winning beans, chicken, ribs and brisket. We are most proud of our competition background and the quality of our food. What sets us apart is our dedication to the process.
If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
We would have started our business a lot sooner.
