Today we’d like to introduce you to Daniele Rideau.
Hi Daniele, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I began my esthetics journey in October 2020. Like others, the pandemic made me realize that I wasn’t living my life to its fullest potential; professionally and personally. Since 2018, I was a self-taught makeup artist on the side, and while educating my clients on the importance of taking care of their skin to have a better makeup application, I fell into skincare myself. I started seeing an esthetician, researching products, and eventually started talking to my friends & family about skincare.
I finally started esthetics school back in January of 2021. I completed my 750 hours in October 2021, took a break, and passed my State Board Licensing Exam December 10, 2021. I launched Radiant Skin Bar, LLC in February 2022 and here we are today.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I had always wanted to attend esthetician school, but I didn’t want to go into more debt with school. I had just graduated from Prairie View A&M University with my BS in Construction Science. After saving and a few sacrifices, I enrolled to start esthetics school for October of 2020. However, at the end of October 2020, I contracted COVID-19 that eventually turned into pneumonia and delayed my journey 3 months. But I did not let that deter me. I knew attending night school 3 days a week and clinical on some Saturdays would be challenging, but I definitely underestimated it. I’m so thankful for my supportive & understanding tribe, without them I didn’t know how I would be able to do this.
As you know, we’re big fans of Radiant Skin Bar, LLC. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
As a licensed esthetician, I offer a variety of services: facials, chemical peels, body treatments, waxing, and makeup artistry. Specializing in preventative & corrective skin care for people of color. I pride myself on educating my clients about their skin type and concerns while providing great customer service.
I am most proud of myself starting a business; taking a chance and investing in myself. I’ve never pictured being a small business owner, and the fact that I am here now is mind-blowing. I’m so grateful.
I think what sets me apart is my willingness to go the extra mile for my clients, customer service is a big deal to me. I love all of my clients, and some have even become friends.
We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
I have been so blessed throughout my journey, there is no doubt that God has had his hand on me every step of the way. When in doubt pray. If I am struggling to make a decision or just having a hard time with something, I pray about it and give it to God and He makes it clear as day. No matter what happens, I know that God has me and will always provide the best for me. I had no clue how I was going to manage a business and work a corporate job, but I knew God would make a way for me because I am walking in my purpose.
