Today we’d like to introduce you to Daniella Cornwall.
Daniella, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I’m a 20-something-year-old Jamaican living in Ft. Worth and I started my travel blog in July 2019. I struggled with the decision because I feared I wouldn’t be able to dedicate the time it deserved and that I wouldn’t be successful. I prayed about it and discussed it with several friends and family members and ultimately chose to launch journeywithdani.com. I have always loved traveling, I still remember many details about my 1st trip to Miami at four years old and the many summers I spent in New York visiting family.
During college, my interest in visiting new countries started to develop as I became exposed to a myriad of cultures, foods, great people and desperately wanted to visit the places they called home. These days, I’ve become a little obsessed with traveling. My blog encompasses all things travel; putting together itineraries, shopping for the right outfits and sharing my experiences along the way.
Has it been a smooth road?
Throughout my journey as a travel blogger, I’ve faced many challenges but I’ve also had some rewarding moments. The obvious challenge is time management. With a full-time job, working on my master’s degree and other activities, it has been difficult to pour into my blog as much as I want to. The reward comes when I complete a blog post and receive positive feedback from my readers. I’ve definitely seen an improvement in my level of writing by trying to engage my audience through storytelling and a bit of comedy. I also underestimated the amount of work that goes into editing a blog post to ensure that it is aesthetically pleasing.

I try to be open and honest about my experiences. A lot of travel appears to be glamorous but I ensure that I include all the mishaps along the way in order to save my readers from stress and disappointment. Being a budget traveler, I’m always looking for the best deals on flights, food, accommodations and activities/excursions. I love encouraging people to explore and providing tips on ways to travel while being financially responsible.
Is our city a good place to do what you do?
I would definitely encourage people to start a travel blog in the DFW area. The beauty about being digital is that your blog will be accessible to so many. People are always looking for a travel guide or helpful tips and tricks! You never know who you might be helping to plan a fun and exciting trip.
