Meet Roxanne Woodcock and Ashley Glanton of Dash of Delish in Midcities

Today we’d like to introduce you to Roxanne Woodcock and Ashley Glanton.

Roxanne and Ashley, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Ashley and I established a friendship back in 2012 and during this time we found that we both had a passion for all things food, beverage and cooking. We wouldn’t call ourselves professionals but taught by our mothers in the kitchen. Every celebration would revolve around big feasts, family and friends. We decided in 2015 that we would begin a food blog where we showcased our family dishes. Instagram was fairly new at this time, we were still learning the in and outs of it. With building our blog, we decided that Instagram would be a great platform to share our food finds and recipes.

We love to go back and look at our posts as we have come a long way. They weren’t the most professional but it made us happy to cook and share our recipes. Our blog was set aside as both of us had different life changes that didn’t allow us to focus as much time as we wanted to on our blog. We would always post occasionally on our Instagram showcasing restaurants we visited and cooking.

In 2017, we regrouped and realized that our passion was food, beverage and more.  We traveled experiencing dishes that really inspired us to get back in the kitchen.  Our goal was to get back to sharing our experiences with others. Currently, we attend more events, promoting our local businesses and newly opened establishments. We are so proud of where we began to now and the great people we have met along the way. We love social networking and creating valued relationships with influencers, entrepreneurs and restaurateurs.

We can only go up from here and we are excited to see what 2020 has to offer.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
The challenge for us was we began this journey together and as life does, it routes us other paths. Roxanne moved to Mexico in 2016, which some posts were maintained but we weren’t maintaining it as we should. We regrouped once she moved back and even with the distance in between, we were determined to work harder at this and showcase our passion.

Next thing we knew as we put ourselves out there being real, the boozy girls we are, eating to our fullest with no shame, we really began to see that people enjoyed just that. We weren’t fake and sometimes what looks pretty isn’t so good. We value ourselves in that we are truthful, no sugar coating and want to be accepted as is.

We are like sisters and we will continue to succeed and rise above the challenges of learning the newest tech trends each day. We manage this ourselves and are self-taught. We find pride in such as we have worked so hard to get to where we are today. It’s fulfilling and we are always so honored to attend events where our thoughts matter.

Please tell us about Dash of Delish.
We pride ourselves on cultivating authentic relationships with the people that have provided us with opportunities to share our experiences within our platform. Food and Beverage is our passion, but with this, it has provided all other avenues that we look forward to promoting.

If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
We have to keep evolving in this day in age, change is good and if we don’t educate ourselves, there will be no growth. With all the technology today, we will always know it’s important to make that personable connection with our audience. It sometimes seems easy to just stay on the back end, but we want to be upfront and personal.
