Thanks for sharing your story with us Daunte. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Exclusive Sneaks Shop as a business officially started on December 25, 2014, when I was gifted $500 for Christmas. On that day I began searching offer up and craigslist to purchase to shoes that I could clean up and make a profit off of.
After doing that for a couple of months, I upgraded to purchasing the new releases from the stores that would sell out and flipping them to clients until I was able to save enough money to purchase my first store. After finding my first store, that was an office space converted into a store, I began my journey of being a store owner where I vowed to give the best service I can possible and always being available to my customers as well as giving the best prices that your average high school student with a summer job could afford!
After a lot of trial and error, I found myself with a good base and business model to build on with the support of our customers and dedication of the guys in our store we have been allowed to grow every day. Me and my family are truly great full for the continued support of everyone.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has not been a smooth road, but with something great what does not have trial and error. I actually am very grateful because it only builds character and makes you stronger as a business and business owner. Some struggles of our field is knowing how to manage money, what shoes to buy that are going to sell, keeping fresh new ideas, business advertising, and time management.
Please tell us more about your business.
We are a sneaker consignment store in Mesquite, Texas that offers 100% authentic exclusive sneakers that are hard to find or tend to sell out of the retail stores on release day. I am proud to say that starting with 30 pairs of shoes. As a business, I was able to figure out a formula to grow my business each and every year, and able to say this is year four in business.
We set ourselves apart from other sneaker store like us because we have found out a formula that allows you to come into our store location and get cleaned up from head to toe. We have in-store sneaker restoration and Customizer, a barbershop, and also sell the most sought after vintage clothing.
Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
My favorite memory from childhood is saving up my leftover change from my lunch daily until I had enough money to be able to purchase me a pair of Adidas Tracy McGrady sneakers.
