Meet David Rivera Jr of Funky Town Barbershop in Haltom City

Today we’d like to introduce you to David Rivera jr.

David, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I’ve been cutting for eight years now. I started cutting my friends and my son’s hair just for a hobby in my parent’s front living room. I decided to go to school to perfect my craft and leave the street life alone so I could give me kids a better view on life. Me being a 3rd generation barber my grandfather and mother did hair. I looked at industry as a hustle at first then I fell in love with craft and art of barbering my journey has been crazy I worked at the shop I now own changed name of the shop now funky town barbershop and new great barbers.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
