Meet Dawndi Tomlinson of ChiroCatered, PLLC in Fort Worth

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dawndi Tomlinson.

Dawndi, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I started my journey in health, working in the pharmacy as a technician. As I worked toward my bachelor’s degree at the University of Texas at Arlington, I realized that I wanted to take a more holistic and preventative approach to help people optimize their health and life. I studied complementary medical systems in my research for my Anthropology curriculum. I discovered the depth of chiropractic care and how it worked naturally with the body to resolve many issues, including pain and mobility. The pharmacy showed me how dependent our society, as a whole, is reliant on medication and pain relievers. Chiropractic was one answer to removing that need.

I graduated from UTA in 2012 and started the Doctorate of Chiropractic program in September of 2013. My passion for true health and not sick-care grew. I was blessed to find an associateship in Dallas right after graduation in December 2016. I spent three years honing my skills with the guidance of my mentor and various coaches. My vision and passion grew and became my own.

Bringing affordable care that was easily accessible to all was my dream. I also wanted to educate adults and children on how to optimize their body and increase their quality of life. This bloomed into a mobile concierge chiropractic practice early this year in the Fort Worth area. Families, couples, and work-from-home employees were able to easily access chiropractic care for optimal function in the comfort and safety of their homes.

Has it been a smooth road?
The journey to being a woman entrepreneur, health educator, and successful doctor is one that I would not change. Every journey has detours and bumps. Through experience, we learn what we do and do not want in our practices or lives. I had the great opportunity of learning business skills and honing my health knowledge in another’s practice, but it also taught me that my vision was not that of my mentor’s. My struggle was honing what I truly wanted and where I saw myself. Through many days and nights of self-reflection, journaling, and consulting with those whom I trust the most, I gained the confidence to open my own practice. The conviction I have in my vision had grown enough to make that leap, and it has been the most rewarding experience.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with ChiroCatered, PLLC – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
Fort Worth feels like home. Even though it is a large city, it has a small-town feel and familiarity. As an avid Dallas Stars fan, I love the quick commute to watch them win on the ice! I truly enjoy the experiences, friends, and connections I have had this year what I like least-construction traffic. I wish traffic was more predictable, so I could travel to more clients in a day.
