Daychell, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
During a family visit here in the US, I remember one of my aunts being diagnosed with cancer. Hearing her moaning from her discomfort and listening to her talk about what was happening in her body had me worried and at the same time, interested. This “cancer” had not only taken all her energy, appetite, and weight but had given her a whole different aspect of life. I would start to massage her limbs until she was settled back into a comfortable state. Her best friend was a massage therapist at that time also. This is what intrigued me. This is the earliest that I can remember when I realized the healing power of touch.
After starting my education in cosmetology overseas, we moved to the US and shortly landed in Dallas. I started looking for jobs in the massage industry, disappointed in what was being offered but needing income as I had a three week old newborn. I settled working at CitiFinancial as a collections supervisor while working as a therapist during weekends and evenings. As I worked corporate, I picked up a handful of elite professional athletes and private clients, which was great! Money was great, demands were tight, but being my now two kids were young, I was able to manage, with the help of my sister and mother.
During a short time, I had opened a medical spa, offering cosmetic procedures such as botox, laser treatments, facials, to name a few and including massages. Managing nine staff and partner with a couple of physicians, this was a start to my mini dream. After a domestic divorce and career change of one of my partners and I decided to cease operation as a medical spa and continue the on-site business.
Still wanting to become more in the spa and wellness industry and wanting to solve the problem of stress, I found a solution; Spa Kneads became your convenient concierge onsite massage company. I currently manage a professional, vetted team of 17 therapists as we offer onsite massage for corporate entities and private events. We are bringing our clients an exceptional experience.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
A smooth road?! Those do not exist, nor would I ever expect them to. I am head over heals to conquering this thing called life. Everything I want and have a desire for in life, I know I will have to fight and work for it and that is exactly what I am out here to do.

What were you like growing up?
I have raised overseas in Germany then England. I knew I was different but never really understood exactly what “different” was as a child. I loved and enjoyed the life my mother had provided my sister and me with. I was outgoing, adventurous, spontaneous, very determined as a child to go after what I wanted. The high school time frame, I was only interested in my cheer activities, doing hair, nails, working and our church programs. I enjoyed being around people, helping people and serving in the community with my mom and sister.
