Today we’d like to introduce you to De Anna Young.
Hi De Anna, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Before the pandemic i taught music. During the pandemic, I focused on finding creative ways to earn income and enrolled in online interior design courses. I collaborated with both local and out-of-state designers, assisting with sourcing decor and creating mood boards. This led to a permanent position with an event designer. Eager to expand my skills, I took additional courses and spent a year traveling and freelancing for luxury event planners and floral designers.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The challenges I faced was getting my foot in the door locally. I found that the industry here can be quite competitive, and that can make it difficult to gain hands-on experience. Instead of letting that hold me back, I reached out to designers in other states. This not only helped me get the experience I needed but also learn different styles that normally not done in Texas.
As you know, we’re big fans of Bezelbloom . For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
We are an event floral and design studio that specializes in over-the-top floral arrangements, commercial space installations, crystal marquee and curated decor. We also offer destination wedding planning with a focus in Portugal
Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
My husband has been my mentor and support in this journey. His experience and advice helped lay the foundation of Bezelbloom. He is also the creative force behind many ideas.
