Hi Deepa, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Hello, I am Deepa Bowinpally! I live in Irving, Texas with my darling husband and 2 beautiful children. I‘ve always been a follow-my-heart kind of person. At some point, everyone discovers their own talent for doing something they love. I am no exception, as I was always fascinated with the camera and took random pictures from my teenage years. Finally, I decided to pursue photography, yet, I didn’t exactly know where the journey would take me. However, after all these years, I still can’t believe that I’m a professional photographer and living my dream as an Artist. My journey began as an artist in 2019, and I’m enjoying this experience. When I started capturing portraits of people, I soon realized that I was capturing so much more than just a photo. I fell in love with my work; I saw that the pictures were filled with so much beauty, grace, innocence, emotions, and joyful memories. I naturally love babies and their cute little moments of mischief and joy therefore; I made up my mind to become a newborn/baby photographer. Now I can proudly say “specialized” in bump to baby because that’s what I love the most.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I went through many ups and downs on this path, but with my hard work and my strong-willed family support, I was able to overcome all the hindrances that sought to stop me. I worked day and night, failed countless times, and had sleepless nights thinking of ways to improve my artistic skills before ascending to the position I’m in now. Looking back on the past few years, I am glad that I was able to convey the message that I wanted to my clients through my work. Now, I feel proud that I’m paving my own pathway and that my ultimate dream is getting closer by the second. I believe “Art is the gift of God, and being an artist is a blessing.” The best feeling is when my clients show their appreciation towards me by treating me just like a member of their family or writing a personal thank you note about me and my work. It inspires me to bring the best out of myself.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I believe in transparent and open communication with my clients in order to gain their trust and meet their expectations. I offer Maternity, Newborn, Children, Milestone/cake smash, and Family sessions. My Maternity and family clients love to work with me as I collaborate with them on every step of the way by spending time and helping them choose their outfits, do hair & makeup, and being patient while posing.
I’m known for Newborn innovative setups, color changing, and composites (By combining 2 or more images) through special editing techniques which allow me to capture dreamy photos of newborn babies. I always follow the trend without compromising the baby’s safety. I have dozens of backdrops and props for my clients to choose from. My style is defined as light and bright, but I also love capturing earthy and moody styles as per the client’s request.
I have eternal love towards milestone and cake smash sessions.
Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
Throughout my photographic journey, I have obtained some amazing opportunities like meeting and collaborating with astounding photographers in the industry. For a brief period of time, I even got the chance to work as a photojournalist for a sports magazine. This new experience brought out an unknown artistic personality inside me and taught me to be in love with my creative ideas. I love shooting maternity and family sessions as it brings so much joy, emotions, and liveliness to the shoot. Also, Newborn and cake smash sessions are my absolute favorites as I enjoy every single second of working with babies. I believe the old adage “A picture is worth of thousand words – Henrik Ibsen.” When I see my repeated clients with their grown-up babies, I feel my soul connected with them, and I cherish their presence every single time. My photography journey completely changed my life as it has allowed me to connect with many beautiful souls around my small, extravagant world and make me honored to be part of their lifetime memories.
Now when I look back, I forget about everything that once hampered me down and I feel happy that I have a special name as The Artist “Deepa Bowinpally.”
