Today we’d like to introduce you to Yolanda Bledsoe and Deidra Keener. They share their story with us below:
Two Sisters Sweet Creations is a black, woman-owned bakery located in Desoto, TX. It is owned and operated by biological sisters, Yolanda Bledsoe and Deidra Keener. Their passion for service and baking led to the establishment of this business in 2015, after many years of providing a variety of sweet treats for family, friends, and associates. Every treat is homemade, from scratch, and filled with love.
Since 2015, they have been serving their delectable desserts to a wide variety of customers throughout the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex. Whether you have a craving for a moist, delicious pound cake, a dozen of decadent vegan chocolate cupcakes, or need to provide individually wrapped treats for a large event, Two Sisters will take care of your baking needs while satisfying your sweet tooth.
Both sisters are career professionals and have a combined total of over 40 years experience in the fields of education and nursing, which is indicative of their commitment and longevity in serving others. Since the grand opening of their storefront location on February 26-27, 2022, they have been met with an extremely warm welcome from the local community and greater D/FW area.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Before opening their storefront location, it was definitely a challenge working full-time in our chosen professions while keeping up with our increased customer base and their baking needs. Making the decision to bake full-time was well thought-out and planned for years. Another obstacle, since opening, has been securing a couple of employees to assist with the everyday needs of the business. Although we have only been open a few months, we have experienced a great amount of success which is truly a blessing.
What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
Since the decision to invest more time in building their brand so that it has sustainability, Two Sisters will continue to offer impeccable customer service; create excellent, quality desserts; remain cognizant of their customers’ wants and needs, and strive to be a catalyst for reinforcing reciprocity in relationships by being a community focused agents for change.
