Today we’d like to introduce you to Deja Fields.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Deja. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
My family and I decided it was time for a change. I had just finished college and a new start didn’t seem so bad. We moved to Texas and the environment was rapidly changing. I was very social and figured out soon enough that insurance is the center of everything here. I started from the bottom of a corporate company until I learned the ropes and worked my way up to my own agency. It was very easy to stay dedicated to something that I loved. It became my career. Then, I found joy in teaching it to others if nothing else.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Insurance is always changing and non-contractual. But that means there’s room for improvement-always. It can be a bumpy road if not familiar, but that’s where I take pride in doing the best I can to educate and help! It shouldn’t feel like homework, but more of an inspirational movie.

When it comes to my agency, I do it all. From selling your policy, any customer service, and claims-if you have any! I think communication is key and very important for everyone. I pride myself on getting to know families and sticking with them throughout the course of their policy. We become friends of the family!
What were you like growing up?
Growing up, I was the only girl with two older brothers. I grew up to be very social in school to make up for not having any sisters at home. Haha. I was very creative and intuitive. In high school, I was a part of the band and a cheerleader so multitasking came quick. I study Spanish throughout high school and college, so it is a second-hand language to me.
