Today we’d like to introduce you to Demi Meeks.
Demi, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Throughout my life, I have always had an entrepreneurial spirit, and loved all things art and beauty. Growing up, I was the “go to” for impromptu makeup sessions, with my family and friends for both formal and informal events. I decided to embark on a career in the beauty industry, and began my professional career as a business manager. My career path led me to work for various renowned cosmetic and skincare brands, such as Clinique, Lancome, and Estee Lauder. I gained an extensive amount of knowledge, regarding Makeup artistry and skin care theory and application. I began to master the craft over time. In 2014, I was a veteran beauty professional with over a decade of experience in the industry. The same year, I began to notice a severe deterioration of the left side of my facial skin muscles and bones, and was consequently diagnosed with localized Linear Sclerderma, also known as “en Coup de Sabre.”
I went through a stage of depression, and could not understand why, of all areas, it had to be my face. I had to learn to be very creative in my camouflage techniques. Eventually, I began to teach myself to learn to love the skin that I am in, all over again. I realized that what it was my internal beauty that would have to shine through, and changed my way of thinking. During this time, I started to think of others who might be in my situation, and challenged myself to find a way to make individuals feel just as beautiful outside, as they are on the inside.
I believe that everyone “Inherits” and deserves the right to feel beautiful, hence the name “Heiress”. Heiress’s inherit, and I believe that it is my destiny to give my clients what they deserve. It was my desire to transition into a form of makeup artistry that lasts more that just a few hours, and changed peoples lives. So, I began the research, learning, and certification tasks required to enter into the artistic field of Permanent Makeup (PMU). I am extremely passionate about people, art, skincare, and beauty, and I recognized a void in the PMU beauty industry. Heiress Beauty Bar was created to make individuals feel beautiful on the inside and out, while filling the aesthetic and client focus voids that I felt were missing, in order to bring a full prestigious experience. I now hold certifications in both invasive and non-invasive modalities.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I come from a background with little to no support and have mastered the art of using the bricks that life has thrown at me, in order to build a sound and solid foundation. Being a first generation female entrepreneur, with no mentor or outside financial backing has presented its challenges. However, I’ve learned to take each mistake and turn it into a lesson, while remaining positive. I also consistently look for areas of opportunity within myself and my business daily, because I feel that there is always room to grow.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Heiress Beauty Bar – what should we know?
Practical experience coupled with years of training has honed Heiress Beauty Bars expertise in devising the perfect atmosphere, and most optimal results in all our services including, microblading, microshading, eyeliner, and various other pigmentation services in Dallas. This is what I call “The Heiress Experience.”
Following my belief that everyone deserves to feel beautiful both internally and externally, providing this inherent feeling to our customer’s satisfaction is what we love, and strive for every interaction.
An understanding in color theory, color correction, and feature enhancement allow Heiress Beauty Bar to combine science, and aesthetics to bring out the best in all of my clients. I believe that educating my clients is the key to self empowerment. When my clients see the results themselves during the reveal, I am often met with tears of joy. Seeing my clients satisfied and happy with the outcome, is the best reaction I could ever receive.
Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
Exceeding my client expectations in an upscale environment isn’t a luxury to me, it’s my standard.
While I place a strong emphasis on overall aesthetics, I put my clients safety first. Every service received is performed by a certified beauty expert. I practice the highest levels of customer satisfaction, safety, and sanitation procedures with each and every client, for each and every service.
