Meet Denise Hall

Today we’d like to introduce you to Denise Hall.

Denise, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I started painting in 2005 but I always had an interest in creating art ever since I can remember (I actually remember drawing things out of the family Bible when I was five). My passion for creating art did not start until December 2001 when I was pregnant with my first son, J.R., and was briefly put on bed rest for two weeks. During that time, I was encouraged to draw, which was something done inconsistently until then. As time went by, eventually, I began using color pencils and pastels to create artwork which mostly would consist of floral and landscape. Recently in the last five years, I have done a lot of abstract paintings also.

After three years, I had a strong interest in oil painting and began taking classes once a week for about a year, while working full-time nights as a Respiratory Therapist (which I still do). After a year, busyness got in the way so I could no longer take classes as a result, I used what I learned in class to paint at home. With that in mind, my husband and family continued to encourage me to find the time to paint if that was something I wanted to do, even if it was for only 30 minutes every other night (when the kids were in bed!).

Since then, I’ve had many opportunities to participate in local art shows in the Dallas Fort Worth area. As of August 2018, I have started teaching painting classes and hosting painting parties!. What inspires me to paint is beauty, nature and anything that has vivid colors. Knowing that you can put creativity in motion whether it’s with pencil, paintbrushes or what you enjoy using to make art. Painting is so relaxing and therapeutic, another reason why I love painting so much.

I want to thank my husband and family for supporting and encouraging me to continue press towards my goals as an artist and I want to thank my fans for their support also!!

Has it been a smooth road?
I would say it’s been a little challenging making sure I put aside time on purpose to paint because there will always be something to do or get done. So, I would always deal with making reasons why I DON’T have time to paint.

We’d love to hear more about your art.
I create masterpieces with acrylics and oils. Categories include floral, landscape, seascape, abstract. I also do custom paintings. I’m most proud of the fact that I’m using my talent to teach others to paint. Last year I started teaching painting classes and hosting painting parties. “Diffirint Strokes” is the name of the painting classes I teach which is stemmed from “Denise Hall Fine Art”.

I want to thank my husband and family for supporting and encouraging me to continue pressing towards my goals as an artist and I want to thank my fans for their support also!!

Is our city a good place to do what you do?
Yes, because there is much opportunity to grow your business if you take the time to put yourself out there.
