Today we’d like to introduce you to Desiree Ephriam.
Desiree, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
As a young girl, I always loved all things beauty, like anything as in hair, makeup, fashionable things, etc. when I was a freshman at spruce H.S., I saw that they had a cosmology program, so I asked my parents if I could join the program, since I was already doing most of the kids hair in my company. My parents looked into and before I knew it, a few of my classes were switched and it all started from there. Although I did not complete my license their as I wanted. Due to the fact of my school being closed down due to low testing scores and much. I did obtain my license from Ogle School of Hair Skin and Nails off Mockingbird Ln, about a year or two after I graduate from Lincoln H.S. in 2010. It wasn’t easy but I can say I was well worth the last night studying and the cut fingers from trying to perfect a difficult haircut. What led me here to where I am today is my God, my family, and my friends who all had faith in me and let me practice on them at any time and never not one time, let me give up on my career. Ooh and I can never forget my clients who push me every day to be a better hairstylist, makeup artist and overall a better person. They are why am still in my career field today because they never let me give up on my craft or my dream.
Has it been a smooth road?
No, the road was not smooth for me from the start, when I started at Spruce H.S., as a freshman, I found out that summers going into my sophomore in H.S. that I would no longer be going to that school do to Did closing it down. Then, I found out that the school I would be used to did not offer the program I was heartbroken. But I didn’t give up once I graduate from Lincoln, I started researching cosmetology schools so many came up but it was only one I could attend because it was on the bus line and I couldn’t drive yet or had a driver license yet. The school was strict even more so than high school, I was kicked out once and had to wait six months to come back that broke me. I almost didn’t go back but my love for the beauty industry and my support system wouldn’t let me do that… so I had to swallow my pride and finish what I started.
We’d love to hear more about your business.

Is our city a good place to do what you do?
Yes, because it’s no place like home Dallas is growing with people coming from all over the world to live here. So, why not stay and build where everyone is coming to check out and live. I would definitely recommend some that were starting out to start here because we have so many opportunities to choose from. And we study growing each day, each minute, each second.
