Hi Destany, so excited to have you on the platform. So, before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
I started as a receptionist at a hair salon, and I started selling strip eyelashes as a little side hustle. While I was selling eyelashes I decided to try and expand so I began selling handbags & accessories. Business was good so I decided to sell clothing as well due to the fact that I love fashion it was only right. And things began to grow from there.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has been a challenging road. Trying to get business funding, and learning the ends and outs of being an entrepreneur has been an experience. Keeping business afloat by using my own income to fund my business as well as learning about filing taxes and sales tax. There have been a few obstacles but I will continue to learn and advance through them.

I am an online clothing boutique owner. I specialize in selling women’s clothing and accessories. Such as purses, headbands, eyelashes, hats, etc. I am known for selling affordable and fashionable clothing. What sets me apart from others is being affordable for my customers and giving exceptional customer service. Engaging with my customers, being available, kind, and understanding.
What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
Pop up shops and networking events are a really helpful tool to use to expand and get the word out about your business. The experience of meeting new people and connecting with other business owners is really great! I highly recommend it.
What I like least is the lack of resources for new start up businesses. I wish there were more free business resources and funding for those who lack the help.
