Today we’d like to introduce you to Destiny Kallay.
Hi Destiny , it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Destiny Kallay is an esthetician, sound healer, and herbalist who brings a holistic touch to beauty and wellness. After moving to Dallas six years ago and starting from the ground up, she built a thriving fully booked skin studio. rooted in her love for organic living and her belief that true radiance comes from within. Her esthetics work combines advanced skin care with a nurturing, intuitive approach, while her sound healing and herbal practices create space for balance, vitality, and deep inner peace. Destiny’s mission is to help others feel luminous—inside and out—while showing that resilience and passion can transform both skin and soul.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
After moving to Dallas six years ago without knowing a soul. Starting over in a brand-new city was equal parts exciting and terrifying. Building her skincare business from the ground up meant long days, lonely moments, and pushing through the doubt that whispered she might not make it. Every client connection, every small win, became a reminder of why she started: to create a space where people feel cared for, inside and out. Today, as an esthetician, sound healer, and herbalist, Destiny sees those early obstacles as the foundation of her strength. What once felt like setbacks are now the story of resilience that shaped her thriving practice—and they fuel her passion for helping others who are also starting fresh, feeling unseen, or searching for their own light.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
Building from the ground up not knowing a soul. Teaching yoga and facilitating sound healing trainings at samatone yoga. One of the things im most proud of is helping others physically emotionally and spiritually.
Do you have any advice for those looking to network or find a mentor?
When I moved to Dallas six years ago, I was starting from the ground up—new city, new business, and not a single connection in my industry. Finding a mentor felt impossible at first. I thought a mentor had to be this one perfect person who would take me under their wing and show me the ropes. What I learned instead is that mentorship often looks different than you expect.
My mentors came in pieces. A kind esthetician who shared her wisdom about building a loyal clientele. A fellow healer who reminded me to stay true to my own energy when the business side felt overwhelming. A business owner who encouraged me to take risks and trust myself. Each one left me with lessons that carried me through the hard days.
What went well for me was letting those relationships unfold naturally. I stopped chasing the idea of a “mentor” and started focusing on genuine connections. I showed up to industry events, I asked questions, and I allowed myself to be vulnerable enough to admit when I didn’t know something. That vulnerability opened more doors than anything else.
Looking back, I see that I didn’t need one person to guide me—I needed a community. And that’s the advice I’d give anyone starting out: stay curious, stay open, and trust that the right people will cross your path when you’re brave enough to ask and willing enough to listen.
