Today we’d like to introduce you to Destiny King.
Hi Destiny, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I’m Destiny King, digitally known as The King Herself. I’m a multi-hyphenate creative who officially and accidentally launched my creative agency, TKHxDesign, in January of this year. As a self-proclaimed social media enthusiast, I’ve been consulting and working in digital media marketing for over five years. I specialize in Social Media Management & Strategy and Brand Consulting. I’m passionate about working with small black-owned businesses as well as women-led.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Not at all. Self-doubt, lots and lots of self-doubts. The beauty in the struggle of self-doubt is the greatness that ensues.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m a multi-hyphenate creative, so I dabble in a little bit of everything, but if I were to pinpoint my specialty, I’d say content creation is where it’s at! Let the internet tell it, I’m known for being a nano influencer, but I’d say it’s showing up in spaces, whether it be digital or in-person, authentically. Something I’m most proud of is launching my creative agency at the top of this year. It’s called TKHxDesign, which stands for The King Herself by Design. I focus on brand, digital marketing, and creative strategy for small businesses and my passion lies with Black-owned and women-led brands.
Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
Trust yourself! You know better than anyone else what you’re capable of, and don’t let the desire to be perfect get in the way of that. Perfection is the killer of creativity. I still feel like I’m getting my footing and the dynamics of what I’m doing with my business are ever-evolving, but once I let go of the desire for perfectionism, a lot of things began falling into place for me like never before.
