Meet Deyanira Salgado of Amore on Paper in Fort Worth

Today we’d like to introduce you to Deyanira Salgado.

Deyanira, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I started my business after having my first child. I decided I didn’t want to leave him and decided I wanted to make my own business to be able to work from home and care for my child. So I started by advertising my business and making a few samples so people could see my work. I got a couple of clients in the beginning and just kept in touch for other events they may need invitations for. I also helped out families at no charge just to have some samples to show. And slowly, clients started contacting me and I made an FB & Insta. Page so it’s easier for people to see my creations I have yet to grow my company but not giving up.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It definitely has not been a smooth road. There is times where I have no clients for a week. And I have to find how to make ends meet. Also, I do have a full-time job and a child and household to take care of, so just finding enough time for my work is very difficult. So I use my spare time and weekends and try to make more time for my business.

Please tell us about Amore on Paper.
My business is mostly about making my customers happy and being able to reflect on what they want on paper. I make my invitation designs on how they want. I listen to my clients and give them some designs; most of the time they love my work and sometimes I have to think outside the box. I’m mostly known for vintage designs or more modern designs very simple and sleek but yet very unique. I’m proud that my business is getting recognized and my customers are satisfied with my work knowing that they will be getting something they love for their special occasion.

If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
I would have started my business sooner. I feel like why didn’t I think of doing this while I stayed home pregnant. It is a bit more difficult now; back then, I definitely had more time to spare.
