Today we’d like to introduce you to Diego Ortiz.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I started my consulting studio in 2011 with weddings and all types of events cakes. I went to Culinary School in Collin County Frisco Campus to become a Pastry Chef and started my own business. Having always being into arts, after coming back from a Dance tour, I decided to go into this field. With the help and support of all my friends and family my studio took off. We have won several local competitions, and have been awarded best bakery, best cupcakes, and best wedding cakes by different magazines and web judges. We recently opened a second location on Harry Hines Blvd named STB2.0 with our first store front opened to the public.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
So far it has been a smooth road. Thanks to all of our very loyal customers.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Sugar Town Bakery story. Tell us more about the business.
We specialize in wedding and Quinceañeras cakes, we like big, extravagant and elegant cakes. We can do whatever the guest wants design form the bottom.
We are very involved with the LGBT community and are known for being a strong ally in their events. We love to donate items for bake sales to help animals.
