Meet Donna Taylor of Kennedale

Today we’d like to introduce you to Donna Taylor.

Hi Donna, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Fort Worth Hope Center was founded in 2004 by Orlando and Jo Ann Reyes. I’ve been with the organization for 18 years. When COVID hit, I (Donna Taylor) took over day-to-day operations, and in 2021, after Jo Ann Reyes suffered a stroke, the organization was passed down to me. I am now the Executive Director and blessed to have an amazing team working alongside me as we strive to fulfill our mission. Our mission is to fight hunger and feed hope by meeting people’s immediate nutritional needs while helping as many as possible become self-sufficient. Our vision is to inspire hope and provide resources for children, women, veterans, and families to build happy, healthy, and successful lives and communities.

We were located on the Eastside of Fort Worth for 21 years before the building owner sold the property, prompting our move to 204 Valley Lane, Suite 204C, Kennedale, TX 76060. We’re still getting set up in the new location and are in the process of acquiring a portable cooler/freezer. We offer emergency food on-site and host mobile events to meet the needs of Fort Worth communities, along with bulk food distribution for smaller ministries and agencies. Events are posted on our website as they become available. We also serve as a host agency for local programs such as community service, labor detail, CLC Youth Build, and more.

Our work is supported by local foundations, private donors, and Without Walls Church, with daily operations and events powered by generous community volunteers. Annual reports are available on our website. While 2025 is still in progress, we do know that we’ve served over 500,000 families in 2025. I’ve dedicated my life to serving others through FWHC and ministry, and over the years, I’ve witnessed countless lives transformed and families succeed. I’m honored to be in a career that truly makes an impact.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Many non profits navigate the challenges of the economy and meeting the needs of others, we need financial support to continue our mission.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
What sets FWHC apart is that we truly have the heart to serve others. We try to meet as many needs as possible for those in need.
