Today we’d like to introduce you to Dr. Gary Goff.
Dr. Goff, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I wanted to be a doctor since 8th grade. I grew up in South America with parents that were Missionaries for the Southern Baptist. Went to UT Southwestern Medical school in Dallas. Trained at Parkland and St. Paul got Board Certification in Internal Medicine. I met my wife Christine when she was in Baylor Nursing School. She currently works in the office. We have two girls one in high school and one in college.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
I would say I love being a doctor and treating patients but the hassle of insurance companies and reimbursements does make the job very difficult. Especially for a solo practitioner.
We’d love to hear more about your business.
I liked what a patient put on a review “we deliver a high quality of comprehensive medicine for taking insurance without having to pay for out it out of pocket”. So many patients are finding it difficult to get an Internist to take Medicare patients and we welcome them. Many patients have a doctor for years and he is now closing the doors in the anticipation on 2019 Medicare rules and regulations. They are so pleased we can see them within 24 hrs. and take Medicare. We also do a lot of Executive Physicals with full lab work that can detect early cardiovascular disease so we can treat early.
