Meet Dr. Hannah Winn of The Chiropractic Wellness Cafe in Crowley

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dr. Hannah Winn.

Dr. Winn, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I was born and raised in Fort Worth, TX. Being one of eight children, there was never a dull moment. My younger sister, Kaylah, was born with a rare chromosome disorder (Wolf-Hirschhorn Syndrome 4p-) when I was 5 years old. Kaylah and I were inseparable, which meant that I attended all of her therapy sessions, visits to the doctor and ER stays. I recognized at a very young age that I wanted to spend my life helping people overcome obstacles, just as Kaylah’s doctors and therapists had helped her. I had always assumed this path would be as a pediatric medical doctor. It wasn’t until the tail-end of undergrad that I was introduced to the impact I could make on someone’s life without the use of drugs or surgery as a doctor of chiropractic. I was blown away with the philosophy, art, and science of chiropractic and quickly fell in love with my future profession. The innate ability of the body to heal itself is incredible! I am continually blessed by what I experience with patients on a daily basis.

I attended Texas A&M University for my undergraduate education…Gig ‘Em! While there, I obtained a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Sciences with a minor in Business Administration. I then went on to become a licensed Emergency Medical Technician. I then decided to continue my education at Parker University in Dallas, TX, where I graduated Magna Cum Laude as a Doctor of Chiropractic in addition to obtaining a Bachelor of Science in Anatomy and Bachelor of Science in Health and Wellness. I completed my chiropractic internship at the Veterans Affairs Hospital in Dallas, TX. I now practice at The Chiropractic Wellness Cafe in Crowley, TX.

My passions include increasing awareness of true health and wellness in the community, helping children with handicaps overcome obstacles, and aiding women through pregnancy.

Has it been a smooth road?
Being one of 8 children, my parents couldn’t afford to support my dreams of attending college and graduate school. I was a first generation college student as well, which posed obstacles because my parents weren’t familiar with how the process of applying to and attending a university worked. After a lot of research and multiple scholarship applications, I accepted a full ride offer to attend Texas A&M University. I worked several jobs and took out student loans throughout my schooling to ensure that I could afford tuition, supplies and cost of living. I am still paying back these student loans and will be for a while, but truthfully, I wouldn’t have it any other way! I get to wake up every morning with a sense of purpose and passionate love for my career. Nothing beats hearing how chiropractic care helped change an individual’s quality of life.

During the first summer of my undergraduate education, my mother was diagnosed with an aggressive form of breast cancer. I heavily considered discontinuing school in order to help my family. However, my mother’s wish was that I continue to pursue my dreams. We pushed through and I am proud to say that she is still here with us today, as radiant as ever!

We’d love to hear more about your business.
Dr. Rachel and I are humbled to serve the community via pediatric, pregnancy and family wellness chiropractic care. We take care of people of all ages, newborn through geriatrics. We are passionate about overall healthy living, which we believe includes a nervous system free of interference, and overall emotional, physical and chemical well-being. We are also proud Wellness Advocates for doTerra essential oils.

What sets us apart is our unique box on the wall fee system. We do not set your fee for care, you do! The only set fee in our office is your first visit: $40 for an individual, $60 for a couple, and $80 for a family. After the first visit, as long as you are coming in at least once every 2 weeks to get checked, you pay according to your own financial means. We do this because your care is so important to us and it enables everyone to come in as often as is necessary.

Is our city a good place to do what you do?
Absolutely! We have patients from all around the metroplex. The reality is that there are so many people out there that need chiropractic care. There really isn’t a “bad location”. The community needs you!

Pricing:

  • $40 for an Individual
  • $60 for a Couple (or any 2 people)
  • $80 for an entire family
  • The ability to set your own fee for care after the initial visit!
