Today we’d like to introduce you to Dr. Yeni Abraham.
Dr. Abraham, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I was born in the United Kingdom but hail proudly as a Nigerian-American. My family and I migrated here in the late 90s from London and I saw first hand how my parents planted a church and built up multiple businesses with the restraints of an immigrant family. Despite the economic and societal restraints, my parents had tremendous and steady success– modeling drive and determination. Their passionate pursuit fueled me from the very beginning. After graduating from Legacy High School in Mansfield, TX, I received my Bachelor in Science and Doctoral degrees from Ithaca College in Ithaca, NY. I moved back to Texas after graduation and trained at the Memorial Herman Hospital System in Houston, TX while prepping for my boards.
Once I passed my boards, I quickly transitioned to acute care physical therapy in the DFW area. Those first few years were a complete grind, working odd hours and doing my best to gain the most amount of experience. Despite my dedication to working within a hospital setting, I always had a desire to build something of my own but knew I needed to feel called to whatever I would pursue. During this time, I experienced several personal health difficulties of my own and experienced several pitfalls in the education and treatment of women in healthcare. This further fueled my pursuit of deepening my own education in Women’s Health PT. I began my journey in amassing training in Women’s Health Physical Therapy and studied through a prestigious Pelvic Rehabilitation Institute on the weekends. I became strategic and specific with investing in continuing education and eventually decided that it was time to step out on my own.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Smooth! Ha! Hardly that– I grew up with entrepreneurs and even married an entrepreneur so I already expected difficulties. My life and upbringing have always forced me into situations that cause me to shift and pivot. I learned from growing up in 3 different countries and constantly being exposed to different cultures that you have to have a solid core and impeccable self-awareness. When you know who you are and are clear in vision, it is very difficult for struggles to throw you off course. I remain on course because I’ve already made peace with potential struggles, and remind myself daily that I am destined for greatness. I also pray a lot, this gives me much clarity.
We’d love to hear more about your business.

Often women visit their OBGYN annually and are only given attention to their pelvic health prior, during and immediately following pregnancy. My work is focused on the many changes that occur with women across every stage. I am specifically passionate in treating busy women who struggle with low back pain and pelvic pain.
At Triggered PT we provide one-on-one curated care in the areas of Women’s Health physical therapy this includes but is not limited to; Orthopedic Injuries, Prenatal/Postnatal Care, Breast Cancer Recovery Care, Pelvic Pain, Diastasis Recti, Sacro-Iliac (SI) Dysfunction, Scar Treatment, and Urinary Incontinence.
I am all about relationship building and work with a team model. Chances are even if you do not already see an OBGYN, doula/midwife or medical practitioner, I will refer and partner with a healthcare team catered to you. I do not know everything, but make sure that I expertly and excellently treat you within my scope of practice and refer to a partnered specialist if necessary. I guarantee you that our approach is beyond anything you’ve ever heard or experienced with a physical therapist. I treat all individuals as if I were treating my family, and particularly how I would love to be treated.
What were you like growing up?
I grew up with two passionate entrepreneurs who are also pioneers in ministry. They successfully planted and still lead the church they began 20 years ago. I believe seeing this directly inspired who I was as a child and who I still am as an adult. Leadership came naturally to me from an early age and I attribute some of which to my organization skills and extroverted personality. I’ve always spoken with truth and took upon roles that others often overlooked. This translated to leadership roles I had in high school as class president to even reviving the African Students Association when I was in college. Innovation and initiative have become my hallmark signs.
