Today we’d like to introduce you to Dru Davis
Hi Dru, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I am a woman of many niches. Music, advice, aspiring writer, makeup artist, and influencer. Back in 2020, my health shifted abnormally that stemmed from a car accident back in 2017. I started dealing with chronic pain, nerve pain, and walking on a cane at only 27 years old. I was always looked to from friends, family, etc so I had to learn how to heal in silence while being the healer, the strong one. I wrote articles on beauty and was a makeup artist for 3 years. Dealing with pain 24/7 is an up and down battle which brought me closer in my faith in Christ. I then wanted to put my pain into purpose and began doing inspirational speaking as a means to do that out loud. Now 4 years later, I am back in school to finish my degree in applied behavioral analysis in hopes to become a spiritual and family counselor where I can help others navigate life experiences more aware mentally and emotionally. Helping others heal as I heal. I started my LLC called Diligently Seeking God in December 2023 where I help to apply faith to the culture.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
My daily struggle is finding a new norm of life. Navigating life, dating, and quality of life through pain. The car accident changed my life physically and now dealing with Rheumatism at only 30 it has caused me to be more aware of myself and learn how to give myself grace. There are so many ins and outs to chronic pain that I’m still learning. But I’m optimistic that my healing is finally beginning.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m currently in school to finish my degree so that I can get my license in marriage/family counseling and also adolescent counseling. I feel family and when you are growing are the vital developmental components of life and how you navigate them. I’m also in the works of writing my first book on dating with God’s lens. I’m single with a desire of marriage so as I navigate, I want to help others do the same. I also strive to apply faith to the culture. Basically looking at life through the lens of faith. How that looks. I started this journey on social media and now I can say I’m a growing influencer who hopes to impact the world with my voice.
I’m most proud of how I am resilient regardless of my heavy day to day. I’m proud that I am able to encourage others while going through something adverse. I believe that being aware of who I am and having a clear lens towards my present and future sets me apart. I analyze the world and myself different than most. Always drawing people but advocating to find one’s true self and loving every fiber of that.
What does success mean to you?
Success isn’t tangible to me. It’s being wealthy in love, relationships, and joy. Success is me becoming rich in every area of my life physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually.
