E-Jan, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I met my husband Dr. Quinn Liu at New York University College of Dentistry in 2008 and together we have developed a new standard for oral hygiene and aesthetic dentistry. I believe that a great smile is a beauty essential and that a clean, white smile should be easily obtained by anyone. Right out of school we worked for several large dental chain clinics and found that most patients did not enjoy going to the dentist due to anxiety, fear of pain/needles, annoyance of being up-sold on procedures and the hassle of making and waiting for dental appointments. We realized in order to change how patients view dentistry, we had to change how patients experience dentistry. We wanted to make dental cleanings and teeth whitening appointments as simple, quick and enjoyable as getting your hair done at a blowout bar or relaxing while getting a pedicure. White Dental Spa is our vision to bring patients specialized aesthetic treatments to beautify and rejuvenate their smiles in a relaxing, spa-like environment without the stress and hassle of traditional dental appointments. Our goal is that treatments should be enjoyable and convenient. We accept walk ins, are conveniently open Tues-Fri 10-7 and Saturday from 10-6 PM and can get your teeth whiter and brighter in an hour. All services are performed by dentists – a la carte style – in a tranquil spa environment without the need for dental drills or needles. I am dedicated to transforming oral hygiene and aesthetic dentistry into the enjoyable and pain-free experience it should be.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
One of the things that is very important to me is oral hygiene. Oral hygiene and creating a beautiful healthy smile are my passions. I believe in cavity prevention and catching and stopping an oral hygiene problem before it gets to the stage of gum surgery, root canals and crowns etc. It is my goal to educate patients how important regular dental cleanings and home care is.
However, most patients assume that what insurance is willing to pay (dental cleanings only once or twice a year) is what is beneficial to them. That is not the case. One struggle I have had is to re-educate patients to not let insurance dictate how often they should get their dental cleanings. The more often a patient comes for dental cleanings, the less buildup of plaque, bacteria and tarter they will carry around with them in their mouths. This bacteria in the plaque and tarter is what causes gum disease and tooth decay. Gum disease has also been linked to systemic diseases like heart disease and diabetes. Getting regular dental cleanings also gives us a chance to catch small problems before they become big ones.

We specialize in sensitivity free teeth cleaning and teeth whitening, Lumineers veneers, Invisalign, cavity prevention services and Botox/fillers. We have everything you need to clean, whiten, rejuvenate and beautify your smile. What I am very proud of is that unlike regular dental clinics, we carry several different whitening lines and will customize a plan for each individual patient that takes into account their gum sensitivity, enamel strength and the whitening results they desire. Our goal is to get the patient as white as possible with the least amount of sensitivity. Most dental clinics have one whitening system (ex: Zoom whitening) that they give to all their patients. We also apply desensitizing gels and pastes before and after whitening treatment to minimize sensitivity, something that is often overlooked at most dental clinics. We are also proud of the fact that all procedures are performed by licensed dentists and not by hygienists or assistants. We will give you the utmost care in protecting your gums and enamel while whitening your teeth.
We are also known for our Lumineers veneers. The system we use is ultra-thin and requires minimal to no prep of the teeth. Veneers are a complete smile makeover and everything is fully customizable down to the style of the smile, shape and color of each tooth. We also have a special system that allows the patient to preview their actual veneer shape and size before the veneers are made in the lab.
Dr. Liu is also a specialist in Lip augmentations. He is certified by AAFE and has performed numerous lip augmentations. His specialty is a natural look, preserving the patient’s natural beauty. Dr. Liu really listens to the patients desires and gives them a result that looks like a more beautiful version of themselves.
