Today we’d like to introduce you to Ebony Taylor.
Ebony, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
The thought of running my own business had never crossed my mind. Before I worked a nine-to-five as a surgical dental assistant for 17 years, it was all I knew. It wasn’t until 2016 that I began to take an interest in becoming a lash artist. I never honestly pursued it because life always happened.
In 2017 I married my soulmate my amazing husband but still had not pursued a career in being a Lash artist. Then one day I finally decided to take a risk, I started researching schools to see what would best suit me. Only to come to a dead-end road realizing that tuition was extremely high, but that didn’t stop me. I continued to search my options until I came across a Lash artist who trained. That’s when I knew that was my entryway into the Lash business.
Now that I had found a way to start, it was only a matter of time. So, one day my husband came to me and said, pursue your dreams, baby. He handed me the funds to take my classes. I was so excited and speechless. My dreams were finally happening, but being certified wasn’t enough for me. I wanted to be licensed with the state. I am now enrolled in Lash Academy School, working on my license. I remember thinking to myself, it’s happening I’m really doing it. With the love and support from my incredible husband and my family, the sky is the limit. So, I say to you, take the leap of faith and follow your dreams, have more faith over fear it’s only up from here.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
When it comes to building a business, there are no smooth roads. Every day is a new challenge. Some are small, some are big, but it’s up to you on how determined you are. Either you are going to cave or fight through the battle. One of my biggest challenges was during the time I was about to launch my business and COVID hit. Yes, the frustration sunk in with not knowing when I would actually be able to launch my business. Seeing salons, spas and nail shops being shut down was extremely discouraging.
Since the world has somewhat opened back-up. I have been able to launch my business and bring in clients, It has been going extremely well. That struggle made me realize that no matter what comes my way, I would always go hard for my business. I eat, sleep and breathe Ebony Eyes Lash Studio. I am now stronger and even more confident in myself to succeed.

Please tell us about Ebony Eyes Lash Studio.
Well, my brand is Ebony Eyes Lash Studio. I specialize in classic, hybrid and volume lashes. If I could say what I’m known for it would be the “Hybrid Set”. My goal as a lash artist is to educate while maintaining a healthy natural lash line, with lashes that feel light but still noticeable to others. Lashes are very versatile based on each client’s desire and needs. Each set is customized to their natural lash line.
The difference lash extensions make are truly a “WOW FACTOR”. I really love the reaction I receive from each client after they have looked in the mirror at their transformation.
If there’s one thing I could say for sure is, lashes sure have changed the game for women. In addition to applying lash extensions for special occasions or just everyday wear. I also sell Nicole Taylor Beauty 3D mink lash strips for ladies who prefer not to wear eyelash extensions everyday.
As my business grows in the future I will also like to offer henna brow service, lip gloss and matte lipstick. I am very proud of the name I’ve made for myself. Ebony Eyes Lash Studio is a brand known for being hard-working, dedicated, driven and satisfying. I think what sets Ebony Eyes Lash Studio apart from others is how I truly care about each and every client I meet. I provide them with knowledge on the up keeping of their lashes and provide after kits as well. As a brand I want to ensure I go above and beyond to make sure each client is satisfied and happy with their lashes.
Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
I believe success is defined by who you are and the person you aspire to be. Strive for the best in life while creating beautiful things and being the best person you can be. That is a true marker of success. If you are not reaching for greatness, how can you truly make an impact?
It is about setting a goal or task and accomplishing it no matter how big or small it is. Success isn’t necessarily a monetary value, success is also coming home at the end of my day and not dreading my job. I am now doing something that is a passion of mine and extremely rewarding.
