Today we’d like to introduce you to Elexis Mims.
Hi Elexis, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Doing makeup has always been my passion growing up I was always into beauty and cosmetics it has always been a way for me to express myself. I started my journey in the 8th grade when my mom and aunt bought me my first makeup set. After that, I started practicing on myself and watching YouTube videos to perfect my craft. I began being a freelance makeup artist my Freshman year of high school by doing makeup for prom.
When the pandemic hit and the world started to slowly open back up I decided to take the opportunity and attend boss beauty makeup academy in Dallas tx to further my education and get my makeup certification. After I received my makeup certification I had my first photoshoot collaboration with Dallas photographer Urlocalkae to promote my work and get my business started and now I am a growing makeup artist.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
No, it has not been an easy road. It has been hard being a freelance makeup artist because I am new to the business. Getting clientele has been the biggest struggle due to me not being as well-known in Dallas and Denton. In the year 2022, I am speaking it into existence that my clientele will flourish and my business will take off.

I am a freelance makeup artist and I specialize in full glam, soft glam, and natural glam but I am most known for my soft glams.
If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
The most important essential that I give most credit to is having the patience, ability to work under pressure, creativity, communication and confidence.
