Today we’d like to introduce you to Elizabeth Lopez.
Elizabeth, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I discovered green living while pregnant with my first son. I wanted to do everything the natural way because I wanted safer alternatives for my baby. That is where I discovered green beauty which for those that don’t know is a term called to those wanting to use all natural/organic (or fewer chemicals) in their beauty routine. I felt like I had hit the jackpot because I never knew these products existed and to know there was a whole community out there with my same passion had me pretty excited. Throughout the years, I’ve blogged and shared with my followers what I love to use. I then decided to incorporate clean beauty products with my clients as a hairstylist.
Has it been a smooth road?
At first, it’s overwhelming because you want to replace all your products personal ones and the ones I’d use for work. But that’s impossible and will cost you a lot! So, I slowly transitioned, when I would run out of a product I would replace it with a better option. Some clients were hesitant because they saw me use products they didn’t have knowledge of, but I educated them in knowing it’s better for them.
What do you do? What do you specialize in?
I specialize in hairstyling and makeup. Anything from hair blowouts to bridal. I also do cutting and color but not most of my business in hairstyling. I’m apart from others in this industry because I use natural hair products (and makeup when the client asks for it). I felt there was a need to specialize in green beauty as a stylist here in the DFW because when I would search for those services there was little no one who offered it. So, from a customer perspective, I thought there must be other girls wanting to look for a service like what I offer.
Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
I love that there is so much to explore without having to go far! There are always things to do. I know we dont have it bad but I cannot stand traffic, I know it’s worst in other areas of the country but for me, the traffic here is bad enough.
