Today we’d like to introduce you to Elle Boone.
Elle, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I started photography as career two years ago, right around the time my first child was born. I had been on Young Life staff in Austin, a job that I loved dearly. We moved to Fort Worth for my husband to start medical school and I needed a different job as well, to accommodate our growing family well.
Somehow the idea of a photography business, which I did not have too much experience with was put on the table and there has been no turning back ever since. I am so thankful that God has given us this gift where I can be at home with our kids and to support my husband and also have an outlet for creativity and work.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Overall, it really has been a smooth road. Every season, there has been growth and exciting new steps to take. The first few months has been the hardest part of the journey. It is hard when you are putting yourself out on a limb and offering a product that you aren’t sure that anyone is going to like or worrying that you might fail and make an epic mistake.
There were a lot of not ideal situations that probably everyone has at the beginning, that taught me a lot and led me to make certain changes to prevent those types of things from happening.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Elle Boone Photography – what should we know?
Elle Boone Photography is a lifestyle, natural light photography business, specializing in motherhood and family. Family is beautiful, sacred, and messy at times. I want to have a day and time set apart for your family, to stop time and intentionally celebrate and capture the wonder of it all…
We want to give you images that remind you in deep and authentic ways of the richness that has been given to you I am most honored by all the hundreds of families that have trusted me to capture their families. I think Elle Boone Photography is unique in its ability to capture light in an artful and natural way while putting families at ease and allowing them to comfortably be themselves.
What were you like growing up? Personality wise, interest wise, etc.
Growing up, I was a typical first child rule follower. There were four kids in five years in my family and I loved our family deeply. My dad was a cotton farmer, so we were used to being in wide open land. I loved making up games and going on adventures with my siblings and friends. When we were at home, I frequently would perform dance recitals for any adult that would watch and I would put on art classes for my siblings.
