After spending 15 and 18 years in big pharma respectively, Elyse and her business partner, Joe Griffin, have spent the last 2 years building a biotech company that will significantly improve the lives of millions of people around the world. Eosera operates by putting purpose before profits and is proud to be one of the pioneering companies in a movement called Conscious Capitalism. The first product that Eosera brought to market treats impacted earwax, which is an often overlooked condition that can lead to hearing loss and discomfort in the ear.
This condition drives over 18 million patients to the doctor each year for a medical procedure to manually extract the wax. The procedure can be painful, and is inconvenient and embarrassing. The Eosera founders wanted to create a product that truly addressed an unmet need in the healthcare industry. They spent about a year in the lab developing and testing hundreds of formulations that would effectively break down earwax quickly, and safely. Eosera’s product, EARWAX MD®, is the first new innovation in topical earwax treatments in decades.
Unlike leading brands that soften the earwax over the course of 4-5 days, Earwax MD is designed to dissolve the wax in 15-30 minutes. Eosera is focused on ear conditions for the near future and has product launches planned for 2018 that will be line extensions to the first.
Has it been a smooth road?
One of the biggest challenges we face as a small, start-up company is being able to meet the demand in the marketplace, while also maintaining a healthy cash flow. We have brought manufacturing in-house in order to maintain better quality control over our products, and also operate on a JIT (just-in-time) production schedule, which has helped a lot. However, in order to play with the “big kids”, or mass retailers, we have to be able to ramp up production in advance and accept payment down the road.

Earwax MD™ is a new patent-pending technology designed to dissolve earwax in 15 minutes. It is a topical drop that works to break down earwax quickly and safely in the ear canal. This product is a game changer for the earwax removal category because it is backed by scientific data and a clinical study.
In clinical studies, 86% of patients treated with Earwax MD experienced a complete clearance of earwax in one 15-30-minute treatment.
