Today we’d like to introduce you to Emily Morrow.
Emily, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I am a born and bred Texan, currently living in the heart of Dallas, where I am passionate about helping people eat healthier and live happier without sacrifice or deprivation.
In 2017, I graduated as a student-athlete from the University of Tennessee with my Bachelors of Science degree in Kinesiology and dual minor in Nutrition and Leadership Studies. In my final semester of college, I helped launch an online recipe and meal planning database, where I developed recipes, offered food photography services and began accepting nutrition clients via Skype and in-person.
In January 2018, I moved back to my home state of Texas and launched Emily Morrow LLC, where I currently cook and meal prep for families, create healthy recipes and customized nutrition plans and blog about all things healthy, happy living at TheEmilyMorrow.com
My goal is to instill strategies & methods that fuel wellness centered lifestyles, and passion is to help people identify the root cause of why they might not feel, look or perform their best. Whether it’s a desire to live and eat better, struggle with weight loss or weight gain, feelings of fatigue, hormonal imbalances, gut or digestive distress, IBS, autoimmune disease, or anything health and wellness related, I work with others to design a plan that’s bioidivdual to them!
Has it been a smooth road?
I thank the Lord for revealing his purpose for my life- the ability to help others heal and feel better about themselves through educating, coaching, and blogging. It’s not too often you find a career path you love at the age of 23, so I consider myself very fortunate and lucky.
Of course there have been struggles along the way. I’ve devoted most weekends to working and researching and battled through some personal health problems earlier this year, but at the end of the day, these struggles have pushed me to be a better person, coach and business owner.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Emily Morrow – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
I hate to even use the word proud because if it wasn’t for everyone’s’ love and support, I wouldn’t have had the courage to step away from the typical job to launch my own company.
I remember researching “How to Start Your Own Business” on google the end of 2017. I knew absolutely nothing at the time, so I simply did my research and put it all in the Lord’s hands, praying if it was meant to be, it would be!
I went on to design my own website, as a way to educate others on how to implement a healthier lifestyle through food and exercise. It’s also a place to accept business inquiries. I design custom plans. Offer nutrition coaching, food photography, recipe development, in-home cooking services and a few others.
God gave me an innate passion and ability to connect and serve people on a deeper level so I can find the root cause of why they might not feel, look or perform their best. I truly believe this is what sets my business apart from others. Working outside the clock is worth it if it means someone else will benefit. I genuinely care and make it my mission to improve my clients’ health, in whatever way I can.
As a former D1 College Soccer Player, I’m able to connect with athletes and know the ins and outs of all things sports performance and recovery. I’ve also been through some health struggles of my own including secondary amenorrhea, hypothyroidism and adrenal dysfunction, all of which I have been able to control and recover from through food and lifestyle changes. I work with people of all backgrounds and struggles, really anyone who just wants to feel or perform better and needs someone to listen and help them.
Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
I’ve traveled to just about to every state and there is something about Dallas that I love. The food, the atmosphere, the people, the Dallas Cowboys… I wish I could put it into words but to me, Dallas is home.
If I had to say one thing that I liked the least, it would be the lack of mountains or trails for hiking, I mean Dallas is pretty darn flat. I always hiked back in Knoxville in the Smoky Mountains, so I do miss that a little.
