Emily, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I moved to Dallas three years ago from NYC with my three sons. I attended Toni & Guy Academy in Dallas when I arrived and a week after graduation, I rented my own suite at “Phenix Salon suites” Collin Creek. My business became popular after taking a Glue-less Frontal Install corse back in September. I partnered with many YouTubers in the past few months because of my talent and I’m featured on YouTube Influencer Peak Mill. I also work part-time at Dry Bar uptown to help broaden my clientele! I’m planning on doing great things in this city!
Has it been a smooth road?
Being a single mother of boys, I did face many setbacks and struggles along the way! But I prayed daily and worked sun up to sun down to build my clientele and get my name out there! It’s always hard moving to another town but I feel like I’m finally at a place where I’m comfortable!
What do you do? What do you specialize in?
I am a licensed cosmetologist. I specialize in extensions and wig making. I’m known for my custom glue-less frontal weave installations and silk press. My clients love that I take care of the natural hair under their wigs and weave Installs, not many people care too much about the natural hair!
How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
I plan on opening up my own salon in Far North Dallas, My home town NYC & Atlanta!
