Meet Endia Dawkins of Blowout Boss

Today we’d like to introduce you to Endia Dawkins. Them and their team share their story with us below:

Endia is a Multi-Textural Stylist specializing in Blowouts on textured hair and her primary focus is protecting the integrity of your crown.

Her love for Blowouts started at Drybar which she began as a Bartender, Receptionist, and transitioned into a stylist after finishing cosmetology school at Paul Mitchell The School Arlington.

Endia has been working Behind The Chair for 8 years now, has had the opportunity to work in Bridal, Fashion, and Entertainment, and also helped to create the brand known as Pressed Roots, which is a Blowout Bar dedicated to textured hair.

Education and Blowouts is her passion, and she is now a Learning Leader at Paul Mitchell The School Dallas and works in her Salon Suite offering Blowouts, Cutting, Color, Highlighting, and other services for ALL hair types.

She also has a Mobile Bartending Business, The Pretty Martini, where they specialize in creating custom cocktails based on the theme of your event.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The transition to working for myself was a rough one, but extremely rewarding.

I manifested everything I wanted and although I went through a lot personally, I learned so much as well.

I love and appreciate all of my clients for their support during my transition and I’m grateful to be in a position to do what I love every single day.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Blowout Boss LLC?
I specialize in round brush blowouts on textured hair and educating other stylists and future professionals on how to expand their skill set and not be afraid to work with texture clients.

Education is a huge part of what I do, and it’s been a passion of mine for quite some time.

I love the feedback that I get from my students because it allows me to cater to every type of learner and also find new ways to share information and find areas where I can improve.

What I feel sets me apart is my love for people and educating. I get the best of both worlds because I’m still in a position to cater to my everyday clients as well as my students being a reliable resource for them while still learning how to connect and be more efficient in my teachings.

I work for an amazing company, Paul Mitchell, and they really focus more on developing the person rather than just focusing on the technical skills, so my objective is to always meet the needs of my students in regards to personal confidence and comfortably not only explaining the “what”, but making sure they understand the “why“ as well.

In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
My goal is to be the best educator I can be which means I have to be a great student first.

I love learning new and innovative ways to reach my students and encouraging them to be amazing people not just amazing hairstylists.

A product line may be coming in the near future and definitely some virtual education opportunities for those professionals that like to learn at their own pace.
