Meet Eric Livingston

Today we’d like to introduce you to Eric Livingston.

Every artist has a unique story. Can you briefly walk us through yours?
Ever since I was a young kid, I enjoyed taking snapshots, at various intervals throughout my life. A few years ago, I got an email from Texas Parks and Wildlife about a day long nature photography class, that got me thinking about the landscapes (and eventually people) being given the visual justice they deserved. From there, I had to learn the equipment is just the tip of the iceberg, with the accompanying light and the surrounding environment, with its complexities as numerous as ours, and how all of that blends.

Please tell us about your art.
I hope to inspire, but know I may not at all times. I hope my images show a symbol to my soul, from the rock guitarist “in the zone” who is just getting started to the sky on fire burning that day’s candle’s wick end.

What do you think about conditions for artists today? Has life become easier or harder for artists in recent years? What can cities like ours do to encourage and help art and artists thrive?
Artists face an increasingly large marketplace, and the challenge is to know their worth within it. With digital media and the 24/7 information cycle, it can become increasingly difficult in terms of staying relevant. Cities like this one can help with publications like this one.

How or where can people see your work? How can people support your work?
I have had prints of my art on display at local galleries in Austin. I am open to showing elsewhere in the state. Prints of landscape and other nature images are available for purchase. You can view my website: www.4evermade.com You may also book a photo portrait session, or event photography, such as business events and live music performances.
