Today we’d like to introduce you to Erica Gonzalez.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Erica. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
The idea of starting a small, part-time business had been lingering around for quite some time. We loved the idea of providing services within the events industry. After hosting our own party and researching many photo booths, we (my daughter Isela Salazar and I) decided the photo booth business was the right one for us. We didn’t think about it twice and just simply took a leap of faith. I didn’t think we could go wrong with this idea. I’m all about preserving memories and taking pictures everywhere I go. Who wouldn’t want memories captured at their special event? A photo booth just adds a fun way of doing so!
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The startup of a new business has never been easy for anyone, I’m sure. I am currently an elementary school teacher. I am also a student at TWU, working on my masters in Communication Disorders. Last, and certainly not least, I am a wife and mother of three beautiful girls. Plenty of duties and responsibilities come with all of the above, but commitment, dedication, and perseverance is what makes it all happen. Isela will be starting her final year at UNT this fall. She is currently working on her Bachelors of Business Administration in Marketing.
The Sleek Image Photo Booth – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Our open-air photo booth offers a fun experience to guests of any special event. From weddings, quinceañeras, grand openings, birthday parties, and gatherings of any kind. We offer a digital service where guests can take still images, picture animations, or boomerangs and receive their images instantly via SMS Text or email. These are typically used for social media sharing. Our photo booth is portable and not much space is required for set up. Its unique feature is the ring light that adds that special, modern “touch” to the booth. We also offer prints to any service if that’s what our clients prefer. We enjoy helping capture memories through a fun experience! At every event, guests are all smiles in front of the booth. Our photo booth entertains our client’s guests and sends them off off with a lasting memory.
We’ve had to turn down a few clients due to unavailability, so our goal is to add an additional photo booth in the near future. We are also looking into expanding our backdrop inventory to include flower walls. We just added our first flower wall this month.
