Today we’d like to introduce you to Erika Livingston.
Erika, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I love it when people ask me how I got started because my story is different from what people would think. I started Hello Gorgeous Blowouts because I absolutely despised washing my own hair, especially since I have hair extensions. My career at the time was very demanding and I did not have time to wash, much less style my hair. I always needed my hair to be on point for my meetings so living in Rockwall I would make the trip of driving into Dallas to get a blowout. Finding the time, dealing with traffic, parking or even trying to get in for an appointment was always so difficult. The bright light came on and I decided to open up a blowout salon in Rockwall. I had amazing friends that have been in the industry for a long time to help and guide me. We started in October of 2015 and here we are today growing each and every day.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I truly wish I could say that is has been a smooth road but then life is not always so smooth. Besides I wouldn’t be where I am today without all the lessons I have learned. Owning a business is not easy but after going through trials and tribulations it has made me and my business so much stronger and successful. One of the biggest struggles I have encountered is finding the right team. Trying to find the right personnel is challenging but I can finally say that ever since our inception I now have the Perfect Team.

Hello Gorgeous Blowouts specializes in Blowouts, Makeup, Spray Tans, Hair Extensions, and Waxing. It is an absolute one stop shop for any occasion.
We are known for our outstanding customer service and amazing talent. Our goal is make every customer feel special and GORGEOUS.
What I’m most proud of is how amazing my staff is not only with their talents but how they treat each and every one of our customers. We have regulars that come to us each week because they say Hello Gorgeous Blowouts is their place to escape, relax, and feel beautiful. We truly make everyone feel like family.
Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
Persistence and drive are the qualities I feel are most important to my success. I am and will always be persistent in making sure we provide the BEST. The drive within me will always push me to make sure we are always on top of the latest trends, styles, and training. I was always taught that the moment you get comfortable and stop learning is the moment you stop growing.
