Meet Erika Nicole Johnson of ENJoy Entertainment

Today we’d like to introduce you to Erika Nicole Johnson.

Hi Erika Nicole, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My journey began as a passionate young performer at Dallas’ Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts. From there, I pursued music and leadership at Florida A&M University before earning my Master of Music and Professional Studies at the Manhattan School of Music in New York City. Along the way, I’ve graced renowned stages like Carnegie Hall and Barclays Center, and have been featured as a soloist on PBS and ABC.

Driven by a desire to uplift others through the arts, I founded ENJoy Entertainment—an organization rooted in service, mentorship, and the preservation of artistic traditions. Our work connects talent to opportunity, supports independent artists, and fosters meaningful cultural experiences for communities nationwide. Today, I continue to perform, direct, and advocate for sustainability and innovation in the arts.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The journey has been anything but linear. As an artist and entrepreneur, I’ve navigated a landscape filled with uncertainty—financial limitations, limited representation, and the constant challenge of advocating for the value of creative labor. Starting ENJoy Entertainment came with its own trials: building a brand from the ground up, earning trust within the industry, and creating opportunities where few existed.

There were times when resources were scarce, and the vision felt bigger than the means. But each challenge sharpened my sense of purpose and deepened my belief in the power of art to transform and uplift. These obstacles became the fuel for building something sustainable—not just for myself, but for the artists and communities I serve

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
As an artist and creative entrepreneur, I specialize in vocal performance, artistic direction, and cultural programming. I’m known for curating impactful live performances—from jazz sets to classical concerts—and for helping other artists bring their craft to the stage.

Through ENJoy Entertainment, I connect talent with opportunities, match performers with brand activations and events, and provide a platform for artistic sustainability. I take pride in creating space for underrepresented voices and mentoring the next generation of creatives. What sets me apart is my ability to bridge professional performance with community impact, always working from a place of authenticity and service.

What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
The most important lesson I’ve learned is that purpose sustains where passion fluctuates. It’s easy to be moved by inspiration, but true longevity in the arts comes from knowing why you do what you do. For me, that “why” is rooted in service—using art as a means to connect, uplift, and preserve culture. I’ve learned that resilience is just as essential as talent, and that building something meaningful requires both vision and community.
