Today we’d like to introduce you to Eskee Lee.
Eskee, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Rules have never applied to me. I’ve always been, this free spirit who dances to the beat of my own drum. I knew from very early on a regular 9-5 would never be for me.
I’ve grown up in salons my entire life. My mom and grandma are stylists, both with strong work ethics and entrepreneurial spirits. Every summer, I’d be at my grandma’s shop and in between clients, she’d let me play with her hair and she’d let me do anything I wanted to… except perm. Say no to perms, ladies.
When it was time to decide what to do with my life, it was an organic career path to become a stylist. I used the same work ethic that I grew up watching and applied it to my craft and clientele. My passion for aesthetics has afforded me the ability to travel the world doing what I love.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
You know, my success didn’t come overnight. Although I had industry connections, you can only build a following through your actual work. Nobody can give you a clientele, you have to earn it and there were times when I didn’t know if I was going to make it or not.
I couldn’t pay rent with patience so I made sure to give each and every one of my clients a world class experience from consultation to aftercare. Through consistency, I was able to build a following in less than 6 months.
Please tell us more about what you do, what you are currently focused on and most proud of.
I specialize in cutting, color, hair extensions. I’m also known for my Brazilians. Most importantly, I specialize in promoting healthy hair care for all of my clients. My attention to detail and styling aesthetics have afforded me the opportunity to become bi-coastal, constantly traveling between New York and Los Angeles as I grow my celebrity clientele through word of mouth advertising.

My mom is my best friend and biggest supporter. I mean, my entire family is such a blessing to me but my mom has always pushed me to work hard. My mom, through example, taught me that if you want something you have to go after it – and never give up until it’s yours. She raised me to become the hard-working, respectful man I am today and I can’t thank her enough.
