Meet Esteban Blanco of Blanco I.T. Consulting in Arlington

Today we’d like to introduce you to Esteban Blanco.

Esteban, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I founded Blanco IT in 2001 as a side business to make some extra money to help with bills. I would work on the weekends for mostly home users and a couple of businesses when needed. I noticed too in my dealings with people through the years that the market was hungry for honest technology partners to come alongside their business and work hard to make them successful with the use of technology.

In April of 2014 I lost my job and on my way home I decided to go full time with Blanco IT with the same purpose; to be known as the most honest and knowledgeable technology provider in the area. Our vision and DNA is the following:

1. To provide the best customer service in the industry, since we believe: “Customer service is not just a concept, it’s an attitude.”

2. To provide every client with “The Right Advice When I.T. Really Matters.”

3. To be known in the industry for our integrity, knowledge, and availability.

4. To make technology work for you at an affordable price for your small/medium business and home.

Using that attitude and vision we slowly began hearing people say that they wanted to use us because we were recommended by others due to our integrity and level of knowledge. The business began growing to now having a 24×7 help desk, a full team for graphic/web design and software development.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
I would be surprised if any business could say that at the beginning the road was smooth. I was very fortunate to have brilliant and very successful business men and women come alongside me to “teach me the ropes”.

The first month after I went full time it was a rude awakening because there was no paycheck that hit my bank. It was up to me to make it happen. That was difficult.

Some of the struggles were operational things. How do you do marketing, accounting/bookkeeping, standard operating procedures, setting up the right pricing, getting the word out so people know that we are in business. That takes time.

If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
Yes. I would have had a bookkeeper to handle billing. Also, I would have setup a SOP book to not have to wing it.
