Today we’d like to introduce you to Euclides Romero.
Euclides, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Hello! Hola Café is a family restaurant! We opened the past 06/01/2019.
This is Arepa’s House & Latin cuisine. We are different because our taste is authentic from Venezuelan kitchen. This is unique and special, never seen in DFW Metroplex. The most important aspect is that we are a window to show our culture and strengthen the Latin culture specifically for Venezuelan community.
We cook with love, proud and passion, homemade food like grandma’s home. When I came to Dallas four years ago, I had to work in too many jobs, nothing easy. But my hope in God and my goal of opening a restaurant gave to me the power to keeping working in order to achieve my dream. Hola Café is my dream and I have the honor to share it with my dad, he is my mentor and I feel so proud of him too. We are running away from Venezuelan government who want to kill us. Even they tried but God is with us and now, we are safe here! The reason? Just think different, we support the opposition political party in Venezuela and almost it cost our lives.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Language was a big obstacle. My family was living in Venezuela and it is not funny and less on Christmas. I went to university but it does not help too much. Only the basic jobs I found.
Hola Cafe – what should we know? What do you do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
The principal ingredient of the kitchen is white corn, we use it to make Arepas and Cachapas (fresh sweetcorn pancakes) yes! Those are gluten-free. Also, we made Venezuelan style street food so feel free to order Burgers and Street Subs (pepito).
We cook with love, proud and passion, homemade food like grandma’s home.
We are different because is really authentic food.
What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
The most beautiful moment is every day! I feel so happy when people enjoy the food. I am proud to build a restaurant which is a midpoint to the Venezuelan community in Dallas metroplex.
