Thanks for sharing your story with us Faith. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Because of my natural caregiving personality, I knew that I would go into Healthcare as early as high school. I was inspired to pursue Dentistry by my older brother, the late Lindell Leffall. I received my doctorate degree from Baylor College of Dentistry in 1994. Upon graduation from dental school, I immediately attended a 4-year specialty residency in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at Howard Hospital in Washington DC. I moved back to Dallas and opened my practice in 1998. It’s hard to believe that I’m coming up on 20 years of practice next month. I’m so blessed to be able to say that I still enjoy and love what I do.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Though the journey has been quite rewarding it’s been anything but smooth. I completed my oral surgery training being taught how to be a conscientious and skillfully meticulous surgeon. However, I was not taught how to effectively run a business. That is a whole different ballgame. From hiring the wrong business managers to buying the wrong equipment, I’ve made my share of mistakes. But like everything in life, it has all worked for my good. I am now a more astute and discerning businesswoman. I have learned from all my mistakes that you have to have the passion and the drive to get back up and stay in the game. You will win if you don’t quit.

Faith Oral Surgery Center LLC offers a variety of oral surgery services. From implants to wisdom teeth removal, pathology, Botox injections, dermal fillers, pre prosthetics, IV sedation, general anesthesia, we are equipped to handle your oral surgery needs. I realize that people have a choice when looking for an oral surgeon. What sets me apart from my colleagues is the obvious passion that I have for people. I want people to leave my office with a life-changing experience, not just a dental procedure. I don’t care if it’s Medicaid or high-paying insurance cases, I’m honored to serve my patients and it shows.
Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
I have so many beautiful memories from childhood it is hard to pick just one. I was raised in a family that didn’t have a lot of money but we had an abundance of love. That love is part of my DNA today. my mother kept us grounded and poured such wisdom into her children even when we were quite young. If I had to choose one memory it would be Christmas time. Words cannot describe our small-framed home at Christmas. Gifts everywhere. Some with the wrong name on them! My parents made sure that their children and grandchildren always had a beautiful Christmas no matter what our financial situation was at the time. Again, I think that’s why giving to others at Christmas is such a big deal to me now!
