Today we’d like to introduce you to Fanny Minnitt.
Fanny, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I was a middle school assistant principal, and one of the nurses had planned on retiring in 2013, often I would say to her 2013, you are out of here. Little did I know I was speaking the move over myself. Fast forward the story. A strong urge to move to Dallas entered my spirit. My husband and I were set, he had retired out of the military, I had a business and working as an assistant principal, he was working, our son did not live with us, and didn’t need assistance from us. We were living the life. The landscaping was even in place. Friends would come over for gatherings, but yet, that desire to move continued in my spirit. Finally, I shared with my husband that we had to move to Dallas. Of course, he wasn’t having that. I started clearing out my office at school and removing the things off my wall, a year before moving. The home that we have lived in for six years now, I found on the internet while looking for homes in the Dallas area. I prayed one night and asked the Lord for this house, it went on and off the market for a couple of years, but I knew it was our home. I called my husband into the study one night and asked him to look at our new home, he said, and who’s going to pay for it. At some point, he agreed to move if I got a job. Although I had been in education as a high school business teacher and an assistant principal, I did not get one interview, and I placed applications everywhere in the DFW area. When it came time for me to renew my contract with KISD, I told my principal I would not be renewing, the rest of this story is in my book “Just Have Faith,” I was never discouraged because I walk by faith and not by sight. One night I applied to be a substitute teacher and was hired in Fort Worth, Texas.
I told my husband I had a job, he said, okay we can move. Fast forward again, I was in my dream home sitting at the table in Cedar Hill and pulled out a book that I had started writing called “Do You Really Want to Be An Entrepreneur?” I had a vision of ribbons floating with the words “Have Faith”, later that night, I had a dream at a large venue, and a celebrity that I have never mentioned was in the dream and something happened and he turned around stomped his feet, the crowd parted, and he screamed, “Just Have Faith!” I woke up the next morning, went to our dinner table, looked out into the yard, and said, “Holy Spirit” you have to help me write this one, I do not know what to write about FAITH. I thought I was writing for others, I didn’t have a clue that this moment in time was going to lead me to write a book that would send me to Africa to speak and impart Faith into nations, speak in church congregations about FAITH, and other venues. I am going on four years on a radio platform, speaking the message of faith and by inviting ordinary people doing extra-ordinary things sharing their stories and testimonies on a multiple-award-winning radio show powered by Fishbowl Radio Network, located at Globe Life Park, Arlington, TX. In the Summer of this year, I am launching The Fanny Minnitt Television Show on The Award-Winning Zondra Television Network. You asked how I arrived here; the short version would be by FAITH! Thank you, Voyage Magazine for sharing my journey.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It was a challenge from the beginning, I am a believer, so I trust God. But your faith is challenged when something comes up that puts your faith to the test. Initially, I thought I would get a job easily, I knew my husband wasn’t for moving, and I didn’t know why I suddenly wanted to move. Life was good, things were going well, and friends were plentiful. My husband was the first challenge, I said, God, you know this man doesn’t want to move, and I do not have a good excuse for him, I said to God, you are not a God of divorce, so help me out. My husband thought I wanted to move to attend a mega-church in Dallas, but this wasn’t the case. I didn’t know why I wanted to move other than the ‘Holy Spirit’ saying move. I know it sounds off, but it’s the way it happened. I had to stay in a Value-Inn in Rockwall When we first moved here, while my husband was preparing our home in Killeen to sell. This was the year, there were ice and snow everywhere in the DFW area, oh my, and I had to drive from Rockwall to Fort worth to substitute teach. I went from thousands a month in salary to a few hundred in salary a month, and I mean, a few hundreds, the house that was my dream home that was going on and off the market was off the market at this time. I didn’t have a job that paid me well, the house I asked God for was off the market, I still didn’t understand why I had to move to DFW, and my husband would have to give up his life as well. Obstacles/Challenges, the entire process was a challenge, so I thought. There were many days there wasn’t any substitute teaching because of the weather. I held on to my faith, my husband held on to his love for me, and we pushed through. Eventually, the weather cleared up, the home that I knew was our home went back on the market. I never did get an interview but another substitute teaching position with DISD as a guest teacher, I decided to retire early, I knew in my heart, it was time to move into another purpose in my life. I would say that the biggest challenge was the unknown of my purpose at that time.
Please tell us about the company.
My business purpose is in the name of the company, (Minnitt Just Have Faith). The brand is centered around my speaking engagements, radio talk show, and now, my upcoming television show, all spreading faith, and inspiration. my name is Fanny Minnitt, I am known as the Faith, and Inspirational Lady. But you better believe me, I tell it like it is! My company is rendering hope to the hopeless and getting people back into the word of God. I am also helping believers and non-believers to better understand how the mind, body, and spirit are intertwined with family, community, and the political sphere of influence, often we struggle with What To Do When You Cannot See What you Hope for? Especially in times like these. The thing that I am most proud of in my business is being able to see and hear others’ growth. The benefits of my business are hope is restored, minds are renewed, and folks’ level-up in the areas of their families, communities, businesses, and self. What sets me apart from others is the ability to take a spiritual concept and intertwine it with family, community, and the political sphere of influence in a very simplistic format. The ultimate goal of my business is that people impart before they depart by pouring wisdom, and knowledge into generations, concerning their health and wealth, family, communities, and the political sphere of influence. Also, by giving exposure to profit, and non-profit businesses using the media, my annual conference, and other innovative ways.
Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
My mother and family members have always been my biggest cheerleaders along the way. When I was in the military, my family wrote me letters and called me even when I was stationed in Germany, when I had fashion shows while living in various places in the world, they would find a way to make it. Although I was married when I had my son, I wasn’t married when I got pregnant. We were married months before we had our son. I planned to have a son but didn’t plan out the entire plan. My mother had told me that my husband loved me when we were just friends. I still have the letters that my sisters wrote to me when I was overseas. We are not that close anymore but they helped me get through some uncertain times in my life that I will never forget. My husband stands by and funds any project that I have taken on, he is the wind beneath my wings and my quiet force. When I am excited and moving swiftly, he is quietly observing, focusing, and taking care of details or redirecting my path. My friend, Ora Hines helped me throughout my life, I believe everybody have that friend from way back in the days that is always that ear for you. She helped and still help me to get through some times in life where I just want to scream and throw in the towel. Linda Crawford, owner of the Anchor News, in Waco, TX., gave me an opportunity to write inspirational stories about other people in her newspaper. I interviewed many people during that time, didn’t have a clue that it was preparing me for radio and television. Anchor News continues to support my business by writing articles about my events and books. Sylvia Saint John Martinez, (Sammi G), owner of The Fishbowl Radio Network, always and still is pushing us to the limits concerning radio/ media. When I started broadcasting, I didn’t have any experience, but this lady, can take a child and teach them how to become a broadcaster, I am thankful for Sammi and her staff for their continued support and help in growing my business, this platform has given me an opportunity to meet folks that probably would have taken a life-time to meet. Renor Nori, for helping me with phenomenal guests on my radio show and still is one of my biggest supporters. Although I am no longer a member at the Potters House in Dallas, I must say that my spiritual growth and an increase in faith started with taking classes at The Potter’s House, I gleaned and drove miles to study and fall more in love with God at that house, I will be forever grateful for my studies at The Potter’s House. Some would say what does it have to do with my business, my message is faith, my business and books come from a place of faith. Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God. I got a lot of words there. I have had many mentors along the way, but the most recent mentor is Dr. Maricia Sherman, she has a way with presenting God’s word and his plans for our lives, she is the Founder of Intimate Altar Ministries and now has a line of cosmetics. Whatever she says she is going to do, count it done. It’s so many people in my life. Violetta Butler with Tick Tock Clocks and More.
Violetta was with me when I started Fan Minnitt Arts, Gifts, and Fashion in Killeen and since I have been here with this business she is still in my corner. When Minnitt Just Have Faith had its first annual conference, Vi, stayed at my home for one week to ensure that I would be okay and that things worked out, I had a team that helped me with a successful Annual Conference. Cassandra Dillion, Francisca Etuokwu-Benyeogor, Jacquie Kennedy, and my hubby was the best team ever, And I was so blessed to have the Super-Six Keynote Speakers for my annual conference, they were a blessing to my business. Prophetess Shelia King, Dr. Maricia Sherman, Wanda “Sistah Soldier” Petty, former mayor of Cedar Hill, Rob Franke, Dr, Oyinkonsola Jinadu, and Dr. Roderick Anderson. People were blessed and blessed others at this conference, can’t wait until we do this again. We discovered we need to add to our team and acquire a major sponsor. Sherry Bronson who sparked my final interest in television with her class “How to start your own television show”, and then the amazing Zondra Evans, with ZTV who I am presently in her incubator learning all about the world of live streaming and producing my own television show, on Zondra’s Award-Winning Network. Look out for my television show this summer. What would I do without Lorrie Brown, my exceptional Webdesigner, and Angela, designer at Takai By Angela, all the beautiful outfits in this article was created by Angela. the yellow and red were made from a silk skirt over the weekend for my cover photoshoot. There are friends that still are cheering me on and supporting that I did not mention, it’s just too many. I sincerely thank everyone that has played a part in helping me to move forward in my calling and playing a part in elevating Minnitt Just Have Faith. I thank Voyage Magazine for jumping on board to help elevate my business too. And I especially thank Lila Holley, founder of Camouflage Sisters for introducing me to your awe-inspiring magazine. I give God all the glory for his favor.
