Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashley Grimmett.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Ashley. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
The inspiration actually started when I was a little girl. My mother is a salon owner so I’ve always been around it. She actually went to beauty school while she was pregnant with me. I believe it was just something that I was destined to do.
I’ve been in the business since 07 but my passion for nail art really grew in 2010 after the loss of a loved one and getting laid off from a corporate job. I started doing my own nails, watching YouTube tutorials and blogging my nail art on Tumblr it was very therapeutic for me.
My passion for nails grew even more! I ended meeting a local nail artist here in Dallas who ended up being a great mentor & she taught me different techniques that I didn’t learn in beauty school. I honestly believe it was a divine connection by God that I met her right before I got laid off from my job. It pushed me into taking that leap of faith and to open up my own nail art studio.
It has truly been a blessing ever since. I’ve met & worked with so many talented people since I took that leap. I got to where I am today by faith, prayer, and hard work… And most of all the support from my loved ones! Im so grateful for my husband and my entire family for their support and encouragement during my career. I’m humbled by all of the contined genuine support from all of my loyal clients.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Of course, there are always obstacles, challenges the fear of failure… I just choose to keep pushing myself until I reach that ultimate goal! I know it’s all for a greater purpose.
Fashionallstar Nails – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
I’m a licensed Master Cosmetologist. I specialize in natural nail care and detailed nail art. Im also inspired by Japanese & Russian nail art. All the products that I use are 5-FREE & 7-FREE!
I have had the opportunity to partner with two amazing professional nail companies as a brand ambassador in the professional beauty industry. @Bioseaweedgel -Based out of Toronto Canada & @ShopNCLA – Based in Los Angeles both brands are Cruelty free & Vegan friendly. I love them!
I’m all about quality and healthy nail care products that are safe for me, my clientele and the environment. All of the products that I use in my salon reflect that.
I’m known for growing your natural nails and outside of the box nail designs… I love glitter, 3D gems and ombre!!!
I’m most proud of the fact that I didn’t give up on my dreams to open up a nail art studio.
What sets me apart from others is that I know my “Niche”. I’m not afraid to do what’s never been done.
What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Success is not giving up even when the odds are against you… Keep pressing through and as both of my parents always say, “Dream Big“!
