Meet Felicia Fields of Comfort CPA Care Child Placing Agency in Grand Praire

Today we’d like to introduce you to Felicia fields.

Felicia, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
My career started way before I even know that this will be my career as a young child and the oldest child and grandkid. I was always the one with the responsibilities of my mom when she took sick and granny. Have always been a caregiver. My mom and granny in the earlier years was foster parents and adopted those kids. The kids that they foster still come by today and visit them as family. My granny was the neighborhood home where all kids came to eat and hang out. She fed and sheltered everyone no matter who you are, which was quite scary. All my life I have been taught to be generous, kind hearted, and giving. In 2006 I formed an organization called chowtime nutritional services. This business I fed 365,000 meals per year to urban areas and underprivileged kids. Some of these neighborhoods I come from and went to school. I employed 7 or more people from the community to have income. I had a daycare for five years called Teenie Tiny Toddlers. I ran this daycare for five years. The food program business for 11 years. During the process I decided to start an agency named comfort CPA care in 2013, which I’m contracted with cps to find and place foster kids in homes until their parents rehabilitate and/or adoption for the kids that don’t get to come home for various reasons. Today I’m trying to open a group home/residential treatment center for girls in the DFW area. I am hosting several fundraisers or is in need of donations to be able to buy a van, clothing, beds, etc.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No, it has not been a smooth ride being that when you are contracted with the state, they have so many stimulations that you have to follow when in your heart and mind you want to serve the community. Some struggles sometimes is the funding because you want to help everyone and it is hard when you are not funded to do so.

Please tell us about the organization.
Comfort CPA Care specializes in placing kids and adoptions thru child protective services.

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
The proudest moment thus far is when I see these kids’ faces light up when they have a good meal, love, place to lay their head, and clothing on their body smiling from ear to ear.
