Meet Sherelle Reed of Find Your Resilience in Frisco

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sherelle Reed.

Sherelle, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I have experienced much adversity but never allowed any of it to affect my destiny. I AM RESILIENT! I refuse to allow it to shackle me and hold me back. I have learned to utilize those experiences as fuel to catapult me to purpose!

One thing I realize is that the treatment of one person has the potential to impact someone’s life to the point of revolutionizing their overall perspective of life!

I am committed to being a part of that positive impact. Thus Find Your RESILIENCE was born!

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I grew up as a young girl in New Orleans LA who was raised by an abusive grandmother and felt abandoned by my parents.

I became pregnant in college and abandoned by the father. I am a mother of three in which two of my sons have had brain surgery and one of them has special needs.

I lost everything in Hurricane Katrina.

Please tell us about Find Your RESILIENCE Inc.
Find Your RESILIENCE aka RESILIENCE is a 501c3 empowerment vehicle for women and girls. Our motto is Learn from the Past, Live Today and Pursue Purpose! This empowerment comes through different events, programs, and outreach opportunities. I am proud that our organization has provided hundreds of girls with dresses for prom that were donated by the community. The name of this program is Dresses for Dolls.

Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
My grandmother was extremely strict but she allowed me to participate in church activities so I joined the choir as a shy little girl and it quickly became my favorite thing to do. Ever since then I have ALWAYS sang in choir and a one point was a choir director.
