Meet Francisco Giles

Today we’d like to introduce you to Francisco Giles.

Every artist has a unique story. Can you briefly walk us through yours?
Born and raised in Dallas, Texas. I’ve been fascinated with the arts ever since I was a child. In high school I had a little thing called Myspace. That platform opened my eyes to the world of Graphic Design and Photography. I went to college for Business, but then changed to Graphic Design by recommendation of my professor. In between homework and work I would spend hours researching online tutorials over lighting, Photoshop techniques, and any and every question I had about Photography. Soon after, I took it head on by working with a variety of clients and earned my B.F.A degree in Visual Communication Design from UT Arlington.

Please tell us about your art.
Photography has become my favorite medium of creative self-expression. I love incorporating heavy shadows and vibrant colors into each of my photos. I’ve suffered from anxiety ever since I was a child. Dealing with it in silence can be very isolating and I’ve lost many opportunities because of it. Photography has changed my life. It’s motivated me to go out and explore the world and made me very social. Something I’ve struggled with in the past. It’s changed the way I look at the world.

What do you think is the biggest challenge facing artists today?
In the growing culture of impatience many people are failing to see the see the difference between quantity and quality. This applies to all the arts from illustrators to musicians. Our current culture doesn’t let people take the time to see the thought and effort put into an artist’s work.

How or where can people see your work? How can people support your work?
I post the majority of my work on my Instagram Account. @Teddizzle People can support my work by purchasing prints on my website. www.Teddizzle.com
